You will see a stage in the processing of the panel of the Madonna and Bambino (Mother fof God with child) by Sano di Pietro. The video begins with the execution of Child's dress: egg tempera painting on gold. The graffiti on gold is the subsequent phase; I use an agate stone to remove the egg tempera from the underlying gilding. Finally I explain the importance of protecting gold with varnishing.
