The problem is that BAE has no one who can work on the Vulcans flying controls that's why 558 can not fly anymore. It's all fly by wire and computers.

The sound of a class 50 going up the Lickey Incline is music to my ears!

Great to see this magnificent beast in action again. Loved watching this with my dad at RAF Valley in the late 70s and early 80s. On reflection it’s probably the cause of the six to seven different tones of tinnitus I’ve had all my life. Worth it.

Never gets old.

I have an old tyre from 426 when the brakes locked and it scrubbed a hole in one side. I’ve had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit and move the control surfaces.

Absolutely. I did so earlier this year, amazing looking up and seeing the sheer size of the wing. One fuel tank is bigger than the front room 😉

So beautiful to see this again. Will it eventually join the Battle of Britain flight? I know it was never there, but as a protector of our Nation, it should attain associated membership!!

If only the british authorities had kept the same faith in the vulcan that USA has with BUFF.

Thankfully not the case any more, the council signed a 125 year lease on the airport, so XH558 is safe

Cheers. Yeah plenty of bunny that's for sure.. On the plus side its good to see so many youngsters there to see the Vulcan, our heritage and aviation as a whole.

We need to stop giving aid to countries that waste it and put our money towards this aircraft so she can stay in flying condition.

10000 is better used for the Vulcan to exercise than to give it as aid to some country that would stab you in the back if they had a mean’s to. So stop your crying.

How is it a waste of money, folks have funded it themselves by paying to go and see it.. the event was sold out Really don't see your point. There's plenty of ways the gov wrongfully squander our money but this is totally different.. this is folks paying to be entertained by heritage. 10 grand is not a lot of money really especially spread over a few hundred folks

They've got no flying hours dude, taxi runs/maintainence tests only. (Hopefully not a permanent decision, one can only hope she flies again.)
