Brilliant intro to Nouvelle Vague, I discovered the work of Rohmer and Rivette a few years ago and was hooked. Literature in motion is truly the best way to describe it.

I love Cleo de 5 a 7, but you forgot to mention one very important thing about that film. It has KITTENS!!! Little, French New Wave kittens.

I loved this!!!!!!! So DESPERATE to see Le Mepris here in the UK but none of our streaming services are showing it. BFI have discontinued it and sadly it is not available on iTunes, Vimeo, Amazon Prime etc. We really need more French film on iTunes here in the UK. I LOVE Breathless but felt that it was let down by the 4:3 Full screen ratio and black and white film. Truly love French film. Paul

It's weird how you never mentioned Jean-Pierre Melville even tho you had a poster of Le duolos lol... In my opinion he had a very big influence in me when it comes to his style since it's different from the other directors that came up with him and Le Samouraï is one of the best films.
