IVs are polarizing, but they're great for how we enjoy our time, and this one is well appointed.

Looks pretty cool. I really like the room layout and would love to try out the infinite veranda. Thanks for the room tour, have a great trip!

If you don't plan on lounging on your balcony, and instead want those views but with air conditioned, more flexible space, it's a great option. We've had oceanview IVs on Edge series ships in the past: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fWGu1Lt6ks23o5c.html

Thanks so much for watching. We'd take a regular ocean view, all things being equal - but when there is significant savings for this view we have no complaints! It's novel and relaxing. Overall it's how we've felt about Central Park rooms on Oasis class, but we actually like this Central Park quite a bit more given the ocean views, jazz club, etc.

Thank you for the tour! I’m not sure about the IB. We were to be in one for Hawaii on Edge, but ended up cancelling when they made some itinerary changes that really took away from seeing the islands. We were disappointed. Thanks so much for the tour. Looking forward to your daily videos! You’re the best!

Thoughts on safety with little kids in this room? We booked this room but am now a little anxious that our 3 year old would move furniture to stand on to be able to open the window. Though there won't be time that he isn't monitored, it still makes me anxious.

Not having kids, I generally don't give advice as if I do. What I will say is that all ships I recall sailing on (even Virgin, which is adults-only) have a sliding door lock located at the top of the frame, so that kids can't open the door - even if they climb on something. Also, the regularly latches take a fair amount of force. I've not heard of a child gaining access on their own.

I understand the AC shuts off when the window is open. Assuming you had the window open for an extended period of time. How quickly did the room cool back down? We will be in this room in 3 weeks.

On this sailing, for us, it really was very quick. That said, I think this was a combination of two things: 1) Central Park doesn't get as much wind as if it were an ocean facing IV (like on an Edge series ship). 2) Our sailing, while not cold, wasn't in August, either. My sense is that if you've got it open for a bit and you then close the window, you're never going to wait more than 5-10 for it to get to, say, 72F. But of course wind direction/speed and outside temp are the variables. Not something we found a deterrent on our warmer sailings with an IV facing the ocean, and I don't see the A/C on Icon being materially different from those on Edge series ships.
