ICOM IC-R8600: Simplified Memory Programming and Scanning

Ғылым және технология

The Icom IC-R8600 is a powerhouse communications receiver, but lacking any band 'presets', storing frequencies in groups and channels becomes necessary. This radio covers 10 kHz to 3 GHz, so casually tuning around with the VFO knob would take forever to get from one end of the spectrum to the other! This first video covers the basics...more advanced memory storage and scanning coverage to follow.

The icom icr 705 is as sensitive as the 8600 plus portable Bluetooth GPS for half the money

The price of the above is still prohibitive to most and the IC 705 is around £1399 even with its cut down receivable frequencies, people will end up using an SDR Radio which may be fantastic but is let down by appalling/lack of SW from the vendors- especially if you are a Mac user.

@@steveblanchard7293 I'm about to hook up a new SDR. If that's good, I'll use a second one for trunk scanning, which this radio cannot do. If there's a problem with that, this radio is my Plan B. Far as I know the proper software is available for my Linux system. If so, your Mac is also supported.
