Iceland is a beautiful place. I'm 62 and still riding, but I will not likely ever leave the U.S. again. I have been to 49 states, many of them multiple times over the past 22 years, along with parts of Canada and Mexico. I have ridden over a million miles total, since age 16. Unfortunately I am developing fairly severe arthritis, and have a bad back, making riding long distances somewhat painful. I also watch Itchy Boots, she recently did some nice videos riding around Iceland.

Me to....

One of the few times i have been grateful to the Google algorithm. It showed me your channel. Haunting and evocative, i watched everything, i hope you will do more. I remember watching a series of half hour tv programmes maybe twenty five years ago. They were similar, no dialogue just music and the view from a car window as it passed through America. I have never forgotten it. Almost spiritual.

Get to it a grab your dream. I'm almost 80 and have been riding 62 years. Nothing like being on 2 wheels. I have my 2022 Triumph T120 Bonneville and have it outfitted with the same Givi Trekker luggage Jake has on this bike and am getting ready for a Fall trip . Good luck and get to living that dream.

I went to Iceland last September (my first time out of the USA or Canada) and the whole time I wish I had my bike to ride around on :) The only scary bit would be the CRAZY wind! Great adventure

I did road trip on a SUV in 2016 the entire Iceland. As for as nature is concerned Iceland is right at top. But with the motorcycle it seems more fun. Thanks for the video.

Thx Jake Norway was amazing. The year after in 2017 I went via Helsinki to nordkapp, so moving south to north via Finland and then nordkapp to Oslo via the Norwegian coast via lofoten, then Bodo, Mo I Rana and then mountains down to Oslo. Just amazing. Norway is an incredible country, water (fjord, falls, rivers, sea) everywhere, and nature is beautiful. Enjoy !!!

I started watching this video because of the beauty of Iceland shown in the movie Walter mitty, so happy to hear one of the soundtrack from the movie has been used. I guess jake and i have one thing in common

I'm English and now living in Ireland and amongst the many places around the world I'd love to travel would be the USA and Iceland. I watched your trip around America which led me to this video and on both trips the filming is amazing and both could be re-edited to be ten times as long and would still be thoroughly enjoyable! Although we ride on the other side of the road here and in the UK I can assure you it would be well worth considering for a future trip, the scenery is quite varied and very enjoyable and the people are pretty friendly here too. The language shouldn't be TOO much of a barrier either! ;-) Rubber side down and sunny side up!

If you come over (USA) of course do your homework. Also you can skim X - country and see a lot or cover one area spending more time. The Southwest would be a big contrast to British Isles.

@@MrEddieo1 If I ever had the money a 'trip of a lifetime' for me would be to fly out to SW USA, buy a 1959 Cadillac 4 door 6 window (NOT Fleetwood Or flat-top) and have a jaunt all around the south west for a couple of months before shipping the car back to Ireland!

Interesting…I had just come across this after watching the three in a series cross country vids. Didn’t realize this was a way of life for this guy. Maybe I’m envious but I’ve had to actually work for a living last fifty years since I was 16, and although I’ve had several motorcycles of varying pedigrees, including a 1959 BSA 650 Lightning, I could never afford a life like this kid. Must say it’s inspiring now that I’m retired but I earned my way. Must be nice.

Unfortunately since covid, it's been a couple years since I've done anything other than a weekend camping trip. I understand people have families and other responsibilities that keep them from traveling. But while I'm able.. I put my hard earned money into experiences

I’ve been itching for another bike since retiring and your recorded journey inspired me even more. Speaking of “journey”, if you don’t already know check out Martin Sexton Live Wide Open. Lots of tunes in there you would like, I’m pretty certain. And while I’m here couple more places out on Eastern Long Island worth checking out for camping. Cedar Point Park on the South Fork, Cathedral Pines right next door in Middle Island, even my backyard here in Ridge (We have a very big yard. Plenty of privacy and camaraderie. Plus my son has his own motorcycle if you care to ride along some known backroads out by us.) Keep you head cool and your feet warm. Peace out

Is the 700x and the 750x still treating you and your husband well? Interested in these for long distances trips like Jake did (and cheaper at the gas pump than my Jeep TJ for commuting).

Thanks! I visited in late September but was surprisingly cold! If i went again I'd probably go in late spring.
