ICELAND'S BOILING MUD PITS | Kleifarvatn, Seltun, and the Reykjanes Peninsula

Hot Springs. Frozen Lava.. THE LAND OF FIRE AND ICE.
Come learn about the Reykjanes Peninsula in southern Iceland with us! There are many things to see in Iceland in the winter and so we decided to check out Kleifarvatn Lake, Seltun Geothermal Area, and see the epic coastline! We then ended our day with some warm Christmas vibes, lobster soup, and a lovely harbor cafe!

Driving in Iceland is ACTUALLY kinda fun! It can be scary in the winter, but the lava fields and mountains make it all worth it. Now we want to know.. What's the coolest road trip YOU'VE ever done??

That sounds fun! We won't be back in the US for another few months, but we've heard the food and culture in Miami is super vibrant. It's definitely on our list!

What an adventure guys! That road seemed scary. I have never heard of this place. That lake looks so pretty. Glad you enjoyed your “Beach Day”. Did your drone run out of juice much faster since it is so cold? The shots were epic. You guys had this place to yourself. Being pregnant your super smell gets stronger. Oh man Active volcanos scare me. Thanks for taking us around.

We didn’t notice our drone or camera batteries go down noticeably faster, but we were in and out of the warm car a lot, so that might have helped. The drone did fly funny a few times and we wondered if that was because of the cold?

I hear your shudder in the moment of "we're gonna test it out on this trip." Don't blame you. That wind chill isn't bad compared to what it could be there. Wow. So crazy to see boiling water next to snow. Just...bonkers. Glad we don't have smell-o-vision. And probably harder when pregnant. "I bet this has some pretty helpful information!" LOL...and your Icelandic, Thomas, is brilliant. Our best road trip? Hmmmm... - 1) Driving the Malibu coast & the mountains north of Los Angeles with AnonyMommy (Tony inside her like the baby inside you). 2) Driving Oahu with a convertible on a perfect day. Pro tip: Look up the video of when Iceland beat Austria and England in Euro 2016. The play-by-play is insanely fun.

Hahaha it was a little alarming at first, but they take care of the roads really well in Iceland! We had no real issues with the vehicle - we drove through a few different blizzards and slid around a little bit, but as a whole - the studded snow tires, 4X4, and overall road maintenance made it a pretty safe driving experience! Yeah, I think the pregnancy has made Ruth's sense of smell extra sensitive - but it was also a REALLY stinky park hahaha WOOAAHH... both of those sound incredible. We've never driven a convertible, but it seems like such a relaxing and leisurely activity - ESPECIALLY in OAHU 😮.. and dang that game looks like it would have been crazy to watch live - our next destination is Columbia and we're hoping to see a football game when there - apparently the locals go CRAZY haha
