How beautiful your part of Iceland is with that new coat of snow! I can see the attraction of going to Iceland in the winter to view the Northern Lights, but I imagine there are also many cloudy days and nights when that's not possible. Very hit and miss probably.

It sure can be, for example last couple of days we had clear sky every evening but then there can also be times when it's cloudy for two weeks in a row. I think the best thing to do is to look at seeing northern lights as a bonus rather than main objective of the trip and it will most likely come true. That's also how it is for me most of the time - if I plan to go shoot they're usually never as good as when I don't plan for it, just look out of window and there they are and whole sky is moving :D

Hi Jan, wow, the snow sure adds a lot of beauty to a video. The snow on the mountains, in the valley and all the landscape surrounding your home looks really stunning. Snow can cause many issues when trying to travel but it is very relaxing if you can hunker down and just enjoy your surroundings. The Sun was in the perfect location for your photos in that you could see the reflection of the surrounding mountain in the smooth lake water. There are certainly pros and cons to the weather. Thanks for taking us along on this scenic view of Iceland in November. Always enjoy your narration on your videos as well with your calm and reassuring voice.

Thank you Ben! Glad you like the video :) Yes, I am very excited that winter is finally here. The biggest downside in my opinion is till the lack of light, but one just has to make sure to make the most out of what he has. I look forward to sharing more from this winter paradise!

I'm here visiting Iceland now (16-21 November) and having a great time... we are lucky with quite a nice weather; a bit cold but no rain at places we visited (South Coast, Golden Circle, Snaefellsnes Peninsula, Rekyjavik). We didn't visit the Troll peninsula. Iceland is definately an absolutely a beautiful and amazing country.

Glad to hear about your experience here Zack! Weather has been very friendly this September, I believe more or less on the whole island. Which I think can be considered quite rare especially at this time of the year. That being said it looks like next two days are going to get very windy and rainy but still, great timing!

Nice video. Im planning to visit Iceland for the first time on november, I will travel alone and right now I´m not so sure of going or wait for summer of 25. The cold wouldnt be a problem for me, I love cold weather, but the sun hours is what makes me think about it.

I think it makes sense as long as you plan your trip according to that. Many people don't count in the daylight hours and they fall behind their schedule. I think the best thing to do at this time of the year is to stay for either more than 7 days and take things slow - if you want to see and do a lot or to plan the trip in the way that you won't drive a lot and you maximise the daylight hours as much as you can. - Often people who come in summer want to come back in the winter and the other way around, so I say go for it, visit in November and come back some day again in the future :) - don't worry about not being able to see everything - ive been here for years and still feel like there's so many places I haven't visited!

Yes, Snæfelsnes peninsula is pretty quiet place. And beautiful. I am actually thinking to revisit some of the most famous places of south Iceland this winter, because during the summer I don't really want to go there because how crowded they are

Hey! Days in November are already pretty short, sunrise is around 10am and sunset around 4pm. But despite the shorter days, light can be very magical as the sun is sitting quite low on the horizon :)

Hey! Very high chance to see them, as long as the sky stays clear. Location doesn't matter, just keep in mind that it is always the best to be outside of the city (because of the light pollution). I have a guide on topic of northern lights on my channel as well :) kzread.info/dash/bejne/YoV_1M2xXcy3ZsY.htmlsi=CW-1baMnaU6peY-i
