Icejade would have gotten a lot more props if more of its were released sooner than tears because they are *designed* to fight against branded -the banished monster recovery with the field -lockdown for activated monster effects Freaking Gymir's effects Agerine really learnt from the defeat of her clan and said "im not letting this happen again." The playstyle theme is well thought out too. the Icejade are pacifistic so they dont attack but stop the opponent in other ways. Agerine built on her people's ways and her ATK/DEF are the exact opposite of her mothers!

Aegirine has always, and will continue to carry icejades on her FREAKING BACK

It would have been more canonical if "Abyss Dragon Swordsoul" was facing off against Gymir, but I'm not complaining. Seeing Despia get wrecked was worth it.

Now just need a good Fur Hire replay with the new support and the new selection pack will be completely showcased.

to that despia guy's defense,icejade has more text than typical pendulum cards and their effects all weird to understand wth they actually doing

Wait, I thought Gymir Aegirine only gives effect like unaffected card and opponent can still choose it as target banish/destroy. But this card actually prevents all kinds of banish/destroy effects to our monster, even non-target effects cannot choose our monster as target? That is really unique effect.

Right, she prevents your face-up monsters from being banished, so they cannot be chosen on resolution. This is different from targeted banish because those monsters target before gymir can respond, and because gymir doesn't prevent targeting.

as others mentioned mirrorjade doesnt target but the player must still banish a monster on field because he activated its effect yet because of aegirine gymir none of the icejades can be banished so he must banish something of his instead it works like this specifically becuase mirrorjade chooses the card to banish on resolution rather then on activation so if mirrorjade did target then his effect would simply fail to resolve on resolution but since it selects the card to banish on resolution and gymir makes the icejades an illegal choice for mirrorjade he ended up being forced to choose his own monster

You can still Accesscode attempt to destroy Gymir, and she'll protect. But you can't even Mirrorjade, attempt to banish Gymir, and she'll protect. Idk why these two are treated differently, but that's how that works I guess?

@@solobugg5087 it is because accesscode can only destroy the opponent's cards as in its text. You can't make the monster go beyond the scope of its text, kind of like how you can't force the opponent to attack themselves via Patrician of Darkness. Mirrorjade is allowed to banish the owner's monsters so it is forced to pick the only valid monster alternative to the opponent's monsters.

Just having this run so you can get the watch cause I saw this live in stream. This was a crazy good duel! Almost want to make this deck

Icejades are fun, but not meta; Rahn however will get them around Tier2, but they're not keeping up with Swordsoul or crazy decks that mass summon on turn 1.

As an icejade main, gymir aegirine makes the deck so powerful

Built Icejade a while back, it's a fun deck. You just have to worry about Feather Duster until you have Erosion on field.

That's why I love icejades, if one of the few decks where you have to read every single card in order to counter it, and I mean everyone, cards in the field and gy, it's like this colony that is just insane when every piece is live, there is not a single card that is dead (cradle maybe, but not being opt gives it an edge), like hey, if you somehow play around gymir, there is manifestation lurking in the gy ready to banish and erosion ready to bring something forth, it takes a little to get the whole thing together, but when it does, it goes hard.

Just started master duel today…. I bought a bunch of packs for ghoti since I figured it was the most accessible for the price….. I pulled ok for ghoti so far…. But my goodness is fate screaming for me to play icejade…… I pulled not one but two royal finishes in the last 50 packs and they are both for icejade… so I will definitely keep ‘em and probably end up building an icejade deck as well as ghoti

You literally have to draw the perfect hand every duel to make any type of substantial board with this deck. Otherwise it just isnt going to work. Even with the new NEW support it still suffers from the same problems.

I just slapped gymir in swordsoul. We were in a low card situation. Girl can solo stunlock tearlaments. Fusion from grave? Nope. Sulliek? Nope. Field spell? Nope. Although it's just once per turn, but she gets value every time

I will never sleep on ice jades again notes taken.

That will be weird though since ghoti can synchro fish on opponent turn and icejade isn't fish and all their monsters are high level for fish to synchro with.

The only cards you could really use are Tremora for the special summon of waters and Gymir Aegirine, which Tremora can bring back.

treetrunks/ 302-183-038/ Rikka "beatdown" vs ishizu tear, vs invoked witchcrafter (Rikka deck without the sunavalon engine using 0 HANDTRAPS with infinate combo routes and diffrent endboards depending on the match-up) even locking tearlament out of the game going second!

Scary now? Almost everything he did was typical Icejade stuff. The only new thing was Gymir, and he actually almost threw but recovered with help from his opponent's misplays. If instead of searching king fisher with cradle he had gotten erosion he could've won much more easily/comfortably. But he makes the rookie mistake of being afraid to put Kosmochlor in atk position. with the reduced attack stats he didn't need to do the kaiju shenanigans to clear that board he could've simply searched out icejade erosion instead of cradle, switched kosmochlor to atk position cleaned up the monsters because all mosnters that battle an icejade lose 1k atk when kosmoch is on the board. So Kosmochlor could've attacked over titaniklad for 1200 damage +2500 curse burn aegirine could've attacked the reduced albion, and anemane would've cleared aluber this leaves just the kaiju but that's fine, by this point he has both tremora and tinola in the graveyard and the only thing the kaiju would've actually been able to attack over would've been anemone. It also would've meant that the evenly would've left him with 2 cards instead of just aegerine and then closed out that turn with erosion set to the board to negate branded fusion by poping his aegerine which would've triggered the ressurection effect of tinola or tremora and allowed him to ressurect gymir or just put aegerine back on the board for another search and in the process he would've then been able to activate the field to reduce again if needed. Basically he had two monster reborns sitting in the graveyard that were waiting for something to get destroyed and erosion would also have covered the possibility of a second evenly or another kurikara or whatever since it's second effect would've just put another icejade on the board if anything got banished or tributed as it can react to ANY removal caused by your opponent that isn't destruction. Tldr: he could've locked this game down instead of it coming down to his opponent making a misplay with mirror jade.

No, you are not wrong when you called them Ice barriers. But also, Not quite. They are ICE BARRIERS 2.0. they are Better and basically do what ice barriers wanted to do with their Generals shait. Except they were Janky. I still love em. Icejade Barriers are a thing Thanks to Revealer of the ice barrier. Gets Access to triple Material synchros. And the discard isnt too hefty of a price considering how recurring ice jades are. Thanks to Cyberstorms access, we get access to Lvl 10 Plays way more consistently, locked to waters if done that way with RAN AEGIRINE. but Chenyeng is Thankfully Good. Can also do Links. I love this deck. Its Janky, but i love cause its Fun enough of a puzzle to crack its board, and it can do complex combos if you let them cook long enough. Which is in essence what A lot of people want from a Match, Player interaction. The floodgate effects can be scary if you are not prepared. But like. 8 out of 10 decks ive played against can crack it easier and fast. So i only see it as abusive vs Lower tier decks And thats also considering Ice jades are very low twar given how Slow tbeir plays are if you dont draw exactly. 1 Enion cradle + 2 Cradles. Why 2? Because the 1st one will get Ashed, nobody ezpects the second one. That way you get into Aegirine or Kosmochlor if you already have CURSE in hand, which will be able to add without a problem after an ash. Alternatively if you can resolve Both Cradles, you just perform what Might pretty well be FULL COMBO. Aegirine Adds whatever (if you can choose, pick A Cradle to get into Aegirrocrassis something) Perform the equip and special summon of it to go Gymir. Activate Enion Cradle to add Back Aegirine for the next turn. Acrivate THE CURSE. And Special summon Kosmochlor. Thats Full Combo right there. A 5 card combo. Which is why you need like 2 turns to set up, so you go piece by piece if tbis hand doesnt happen which is 1 in like 20 duels. But hey, it CAN happen. Ive labbed this deck a bit, and it can be pretty fun to experiment. Icejade Penguins for example are Very intresting because of The Brave synchro. And how they work as Removal when needed. Icejade Barriers are a MORE GO second build because you csn potentially removr a lot of stuff your opponents do with Subzero Dragon Trish. With Ran Aegirine, Atlanteans ice jade just got a Massive Buff. Could also play a SWORDSOUL ICEJADE variant because ran aegirine says SUMMON CHENYENG. Icejade Ghoti allows for good disruption because its performed in your opponents turn.
