Yep, there were some amazingly unique films from that time period. We still get good movies now but we don't have quite the diversity we had back then.

One of my biggest annoyances is how most mainstream movies cater to the ADD crowd. They have to start the movie off with a bang and then keep having things jump out throughout the film for fear that they will lost the audience. Thanks! Asspen is classic.

When I was younger and would go and rent a vhs or beta max tape I would look for the coolest looking cover. That is how I picked horror movies. Did you do this also? Thanks and love the chanel.

You know, the fact that you even reviewed this film (which I only saw once as a VHS rental) and gave it the full research & fun commentary treatment makes me what to say "Dude, you earned my respect". Thanks for the laughs and 80s nostalgia, even if the film itself was terrible.

Time shares are horror if one has ever been tricked in to sitting through a time share sales presentation. But can be comedic horror if one keeps in mind that it's all lies. _"Your new cabin in Swampville is guaranteed to see your investment double in as little as 6 months..."_

The synth work sounds like a poor man's Simon Boswell. Or a rich man's late-90s Full Moon Pictures release. I guess this is one of the movies where you want and pray that all the characters meet the most brutal, gruesome deaths imaginable. A bunch of whiny, bipolar, coke snorting, bourgeois yuppies. I guess "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" did that to much greater effect.

This might be the only horror movie in a snowy setting that doesn't involve a monster or something supernatural. I wouldn't say it's bad; it's just... lacking. With some more suspenseful scenes it could have been legit scary.

HatredPrime The 80s were full of wonderful synths of all kinds, not just digital, but also analog and hybrids. And there were more digital synthesis methods than just "FM" (actually PM) and PCM samples - wavetable synthesis, samplers, etc. I know this comment's old, but synths of the 80s (and in general) are so much more diverse than even that. And shit, even Casio made some nice instruments - the complex PM (actual FM) VZ series synths, the hybrid HT/HZ series, the FZ series samplers, etc. No hate, just wanted to expand on it
