@@DarkAlan Some might call it blasphemy but I would add Till Lindemann. For me the only one you can not replace is Barlow. I can not listen to Iced Earth songs without Barlow.

@@Broodkast8 Till is one ofe the best frontman ever, but as a singer he is not even in first 50's. You can't put him in the same line as Dio, Dickinson, Halford, Barlow, Tim Owens, even Corey Taylor, Jonathan Davies, or Stu Block (tbh he is great metal singer) . But is not what his music is about and on his own ground he is one of the best.

Matt is by far the best vocalist Iced Earth ever had

This song with The Ripper is amazing, but with Barlow, man, he takes to another level, its one of the best songs from Iced Earth. His voice is unique.

You would think that a woman almost 60 years old wouldn't want to listen to this kind of music....but I'm a rocker through and through. I own every one of these guys CD's and will continue to rock my life away.

Proud of u.. it's good for u.im 52 .cant really get into other music.i like the fact I understand the vocal in country but I DH ont lik the music. Steel guitar the twanginess.lol never get into rap either and pop just dont cut it for me.. at work I jam on my cell all day or my sony Walkman .

3:24 Unbelievable sensation when the guitar sounds. Just two or three seconds but enough to get goose gumps.

It's very rare that I hear a re-recording of a song I loved done better than the original, but this is absolutely special. Brilliant job.

the emotional part would be Barlow the "crazy part" 5:30 - 6:25 would be Ripper only (i love his voice in this part sooo demonic) and the rest is a mix of all

All 3 should do it togather in a epic all metal harmony. It would be epic to the point I just cummed my pants.

I could not agree to those who say, one of these singers is better than the other. I love Ripper's crispyness and strength and aggressivity. A also love Barlow's roundness and deepness. I think these names are to be remember and will surely be for many years to come. They are two of the greatest singers in heavy metal history.

I just love how the song devellops and especially each and every second of it after 5:25. So epic!

The heavy part in this song is so fucking wicked, my mind is literally blown every time I hear it.

I miss Matt so much! No offense to Stu, as I think he's a great singer in his own right but Matt Barlow IS the voice of Iced Earth! It's as synonymous as Bruce Dickinson with Iron Maiden or Paul Stanley with KISS. It's just hard for me to hear anyone else singing Iced Earth tunes but Matt.

Adam Tadeo it's hard to compare Tim and Matt as their styles are so different. Framing Armageddon was Tim's high point during his IE tenure though. He crushed it on that album💪

2023 SO GOOD!

The range of Matt's voice blows me away more than the awesome high pitched vocals of Tim's honestly. Though I love both but Matt is definitelty the most fitting and always will be.

Yeah, so true...I love matt barlow and his voice was always there when I got into iced earth but when tim "the ripper" Owen's joined I was so siked(after I got over matt being gone...never did but he made a choice and I respect that)I loved framing armageddon and time's voice was as good as it ever was on this album. I hate that he is always thrown aside when the original singer comes back smh...he is also great.

Barlow's work with Pyramaze during that break was PHENOMENAL though, much better than his second tenure with Iced Earth.

When I look at the something wicked saga from a story perspective and how to apply it to real world events I always think of people with disabilities and how they were shunned and seperated from society back in ancient times. I myself have a disability so, I can relate to the whole concept of seperation and how this song could be looked at from that perspective. I could go on and on about my theory as it relates to the Something Wicked Saga and the history of disability. I would like to hear Stu do this in the studio. It would be killer.

ICED EARTH ROCKS Awesome GUITAR and RIFF have all there albums

Both Matt Barlow and Tim Owens are great vocalists, but Matt is the true voice of Iced Earth and he always will be. Owens did well in his place for a couple of Albums; I still keep a copy of Glorious Burden wrapped in plastic, being on of my favorites, but I have every other album done by Barlow and the guy before him. Frankly, Barlow is just impossible to equal, and his voice goes very well with the music played by Iced Earth. Though honestly, he did well for Pyramaze too XD

Matt is my favourite singer but I am happy with Stu being the new singer for Iced Earth! Matt will always have his place with Iced Earth but I am also liking his new work in Ashes of Ares!

I like Matt Barlow the most as the singer. My kids love Iced Earth (6,3) and sometimes chant Barlow. Barlow. Barlow. They like Ashes of Ares teaser song. I think Stu is doing a great job himself. If you haven't heard his other band, check out Into Eternity. Many different vocal ranges. Others may have a different opion but this is mine.

My vote is for Barlow. For the record.

I think when Jon wrote this song he still had Matt in mind for the vocals, though Ripper's version is pretty solid to it showed that his low end was maturing.

I like how the instruments sound the same. I have heard a number of songs redone in the studio, whether it be with a new singer or the same one, where they change the sound of the instruments to try and make it sound better. I just think its neat that they kept them the same.

awesome song. I've always felt abit of a FFVII vibe from it with the music, like around the slums of Midgar or something like that. Or the first part does anyway before it shifts into the heavier gear
