Iceberg calving on Lago Argentino

This iceberg (the size of a large multi-unit apartment building) from Upsala Glacier near El Calafate, Argentina twists, turns and breaks into pieces as we cruise by. Most dramatic action begins about 1:10 into the video. 14 December 2012.

What a spooky day - crystal clear contrast between the ice and the dark, looming sky... also, I’m glad they kept their distance to the thing! 👀

Fresh water in the lake (I assume ... did not go swimming to find out).. Also, if there were salt, it would lower the freezing point, not raise it).

When this happens to some of the Antarctic glaciers it will make this look so unimpressive. Waiting for the video...maybe. I better be well above current sea level when that happens

You believing the "climate change" hoax narrative is exactly what the globalist power players spend tons of money on. (Taxpayer money, no less.) But keep on seeing evidence where there is none. We've had weather records consistently for less than 300 years, how much data does it take to predict the entire earth's weather accurately? When was the last time the local weather predicted more than 10 days out? Think...

@@helives2630 So you prove that Asimov was right (I am assuming that you are American, but maybe Asimov should have been more general). “Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'” You want to argue with 97% of climate scientists, the ones that deny it have a financial reason to deny climate change much like all those scientists that denied smoking was bad for your health. Go ahead and prove you are so blind.

The continual sound vibrations from the boats eventually has an affect on these fragile structures. Curiosity seekers need to back off.

You think these puny boats have more power over these massive blocks of ice? They are hardly fragile compared to your pathetic human body. The warmth of the sun, the force of the wind, and the tides themselves have more power than we have - and they carve the ice according to God's instruction. Be quiet, and ponder the glory of Gods' creations - how they move as they return again to the sea from whence they came. It will return to the mountaintop as rain and snow, and begin the slow and inexorable cycle again. It will take many human lifetimes to travel down from the mountaintop to the sea. This is as it should be. Give glory to God!
