I knew of lady lighting before going to worlds but seeing them in person was amazing.. they feed off the crowd so well! I love SSX but they deserved the gold this year

I disagree with a lot of the comments below. I've seen a lot of 'they're the judges favorites' and 'it's only because of their main stunt'. first of all, lets get this straight that Lady Lightning is a newer, underdog team... much newer than SSX and Lady Bullets. IF the judges did have a favorite, it wouldn't be lady lightning. it'd be SSX and/or lady bullets simply because Cheer Extreme and California Allstars are both some of the few elite gyms in the country. Cheer Extreme has 10+ globes sitting in their multiple gyms... Cali Allstars have 10+ globes as well. This win from this year will be the THIRD globe ICE has ever received.. the other two being only bronze. so i'm very proud of them. Second, the main stunt was very beautiful. Very tight double ups, great dismounts, and extreme difficulty. However, I can't say that I've EVER seen a team throw round off hand doubles at the end of a very hard routine. it's unique. The girl who had the last pass in running tumbling, the 'negro' has a name. and she's a phenomenal tumbler (and super nice). If you watch her the entire routine, she does the most tumbling out of ANYBODY on the floor and it's all beautiful. Round off hand double hand hand double? wow. Their jumps are beautiful and it wasn't a jump sequence you see in every routine. And lastly, SSX and Lady Bullets were both train wrecks this year at worlds. i don't mean to talk badly about either gyms because i love both of those teams so much. they're both amazing. but i think we can all agree that neither one of those teams brought near as much talent than they have the past years to worlds. they both had multiple deductions, both days and they were also sloppy. Lady Lightning was very clean and had little flaws that were hardly noticeable. I follow this team every year (i also cheer at ICE) and they have been through so much this year. they deserved this globe fair and square.

so proud to have been apart of this gym. these girls were working towards a world title for ages! so proud of them!

Lol me either, but they lost over half the team. A lot of the girls were seniors and some just left. So I'm guessing that's why.

Lady Lightning always has amazinggggg double ups and body positions. UGH!

I love how synchronized they are 😍 but honestly they kinda need to work on their jumps. but their stunts were so creative and they HIT

Whatever, they brought it! I wasn't even sold on lady lightning until this performance. They gave it their all and added difficulty. I also love when fluff looks to see if the other stunts hit.

The main stunt was a beast!!! it kinda reminds me of Lady Bullets partner stunt way back on 2011

so glad I cheer at ice. be ready for LL this year. I have practice the same time they do, and they are bringing it this year.

There are other good all-around teams in this division that I think should have won. My opinion is fairly based on how difficult the routine is as a whole, not just one part like main stunts...

That's ok what you think. But you then went on to put sport into quotations like it wasn't and say this is why we aren't in the Olympics. It turned into more than just 'I think another team should have won'

They won only because of the difficulty of their main stunts, and maybe running tumbling. Standing tumbling were just okay. Jumps were pretty average too(lots of toes not pointed). One of the easiest and slowest transitions I've seen for a pyramid. I can't believe they're the world champs. This is why your 'sport' is not in the Olympics. The scoring system is subjective. Actually there's no system, if the judges prefer your routine(or in some cases program) they will give you a high score.

Though I think they did great, I agree (to some extent). That's the coaches' fault for not stepping up the difficulty. And you're very right about the judges, it's very obvious who their favorite teams are.

I agree when you say they lacked in some areas, but they did have higher difficulty than a lot of the other teams. The two teams that were major contenders with them were CEA and Woodlands Elite (I feel if Woodlands hit, they would've won). Also, their is a lot of reasons why our sport is not in the Olympics. The olympics would be every 4 years apart, which does not comply with cheer seasons. Furthermore, our 'sport', cheerleading, is actually an official sport and the ICU (governing body of cheer) is actually a member of the SportsAccord and Olympic Committee so... And I think that yes, the scoring system can be objective, but so can gymnastics or diving. Thank you for reading, just wanted to clear the air about cheer.

You can't believe they're world champions?? are you serious. Did you not notice how other teams had deductions. SSX had a major tumbling bust to the face. Generals had a stunt fall. The only one they had to fear was LB because they both had great difficulty (double ups from prep/low level), but LB had some timing issues. If you add this up, they earned that title. If you still don't agree, which team do YOU think should have won and why.

First let me just say that everyone has an opinion, it's it's their right to express that. So here's mine. First, let me just say it doesn't matter who has the most stuff in their routine or the most exciting , it has to also do with CLEANLINESS and DIFFICULTY (which they have) . You just need to meet requirements, you don't have to throw out every trick in the book. You would know that if you were a well seasoned judge or a coach. Now you don't have to believe that they are the WORLD CHAMPIONS, but they are so oh well. And why our sport isn't in the Olympics? Really ? You want to go there. This is a SMAL LEVEL 5 ALL GIRL TEAM there are higher and lower teams. Our sport at the moment doesn't need to classified or set into any category by you or anybody else because we true cheer leaders know what it takes to do all this. Ice lady Lightning I have rooted for them since last year and they proved me and the judges proud. Sincerely 4.2 ranked 2nd in the nation. Would you like to come comment on whether we deserve that title as well?

Mk, who do you think should've won then? LL received 0 deductions and were clean(er) than Lady Bullets by a long shot. You can say Lady Lightning's jumps weren't the greatest, but they're practically Spirit of Texas when you compare Lady Lightning's to Lady Bullets. Lady Bullets' jumps were literally painful to watch. I do agree on the pyramid, though. I've been saying for a while that it's such a low point in a difficulty-infested routine. I guess the coaches didn't want to wear out the girls too much since they had to compete those doubles and fulls at the end of their routine? That's the only reason I can understand. The only area I can see Lady Lightning by Lady Bullets would be the pyramid. Lady Bullets had a difficult routine, don't get me wrong, but they were just very sloppy. The only area Lady Bullets actually cleaned up was their stunts, but their jumps and tumbling were just poorly executed. SSX and Generals didn't really have the difficulty that LL had, collectively. Yes, SSX and Generals were cleaner, but SSX was lacking in stunts and in tumbling, and Generals were lacking in stunting. SSX I think were closer to LL than Generals, but this is all just assumption.
