RIP Dave. We miss you, so much!!!

A funny story of Semenko. Sather calls him during the off season and asks how's the training coming. Semenko says the lifting is fine, but running is an issue. Sather- oh no, is the knee acting up again? Semenko- No, the wind keeps blowing out my cigarette, when I run!!

Former Islander Mike Bossey smoked all through the regular season; he quit for the playoffs--can you imagine how "ornery" a smoking hockey player would be, say, midway through the second round, after going "cold turkey?" LOL

Semenko would have killed Ali . Ali was 41 when they fought and Semenko was around 25 or 26 in 1983 when they fought.

My childhood idol. I was a devastated 9 year old when Smokin Joe beat him. Robbed of his prime by his courage of convictions. Still my favorite athlete of all time.
