    Yo, you actually keep it real and I appreciate that big time. A lot of how to videos are by people who don’t want to spread to many of their tricks and the others are of people repeating the lies of other creators. So I really thank you for showing the process in such detail, honestly. Helps me hone my craft big time.

    Hey man, love the video! Very valuable information! I just ordered some sauce and then ordered the stuff needed to make a UV box. I have a question tho. How far apart do you keep the light from the soles? Is that like a foot (12in)? I don't want the soles to close and run into sole separation. Thank you!

  • @RaleighRestorations

    Glad it was helpful, and appreciate the support! I would start 1.5 feet away. After about 15 minutes, feel the soles. If they feel anything more than "warm" I would keep moving your light away from the soles to avoid the heat separating the shoes!

    RaleighRestorations thats exactly what i like to hear man thats how i ended up with a much higher wavelength differential variance, more nmol ratio in comparison to range, and the higher lumen level, same price range but the one that it seems like every other restorer had were always uv and purple and my mainly white with a full spectrum mix was much higher rated in all the aspects of the production so i was confused why everyone was so uv dominate

    @unclebanana Жыл бұрын

    A few things: 1. Don't spend money on fancy sneaker de-yellowing products, just go into your local beauty supply store and get volume 40 (or higher) creme developer. 2. If you're going to use a blade to cut excess masking tape, for the love of God, take your sweet time and be careful AF so you don't cut your shoes. Sounds like it would be obvious, but these videos ALWAYS make this step seem like an absolute breeze. Also, *never* ever use masking tape on suede. You will absolutely, positively fuck up your kicks and be kicking yourself over it. 3. Whenever you are working with solvents like acetone (or whatever) don't fuck around with your skin and lungs. Wear some gloves, and make sure your work area is well ventilated. At least open an effin' window for fucks sake. Add the ice back to your icy soled sneakers, but be safe about it, and take a few precautions if you're going to fuck around with solvents. Small detail work with cotton swabs might maybe, possibly be okay, but I'd wear gloves anyway. 4. For the light, you're going to want a good, super bright UV grow light. You should be able to get it from Home Depot, or any other comparable store. The link to buy a light in this video's description is -- as of this writing -- quite dead. Leads to nowhere. So for people who are trying to get a light that's going to get the job done, that's what I'd recommend.

    One question just to be sure when you put 40 cleaner on shoes would you cover the shoe in tape that’s not covered in the material or just put it and just put it like that with the siren wrap

    Would you say to only ice one pair of shoes at a time? I have a grow tent 2ftx2ftx3ft, currently have two pairs in for their first 24hr sesh. Just wondering if doing more than one at a time slows down the process

    Yeah the one in the description is the newer updated version of this light which is white/yellow in color! It runs a little hotter than the purple one so just make sure your shoes don't get too hot when in the box! If they do, move the light further away from the soles, or use a fan to get fresh cool air into the box!

    Hey Myren, we just use a tub (or tote), double sided tape, and the mylar film (we linked in the video description) to build the box. We're currently working with a supplier to get an easier pre-made box that is more efficient. We should have samples ready in about 2 months that include the light as well to make things easier and more convenient for you!

    If you decide to use the sun for UV light instead of buying the lamp, how long should you leave the shoes outside?

  • @RaleighRestorations

    @RaleighRestorations

    4 жыл бұрын

    Sun will use up more product, and potentially cause sole separation due to heat. Make sure to put ice bags/packs inside the shoes and monitor the shoes so they don't get too hot (separation). Try to aim for 3-4 hour sessions outdoors when you can!
