During the Cold War the US made preparations to fight the Soviet Union in Greenland. The idea was to move the front in the conflict to the north and closer to the enemy. To do this, the plan was to build military bases in the icy and harsh area. This documentary tells the story of the American efforts to prepare for war in and from Greenland.
The video titled “ICECAP” and is produced by Army Pictorial Center and presented by the United States Army. It is a part of the TV documentary series ‘Big Picture’.
