Ғылым және технология

This video describes ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure coding for psychoactive substances use, abuse, and dependence.
The video will discuss coding for alcohol, drug, nicotine and inhalant related conditions. Also discussed are the guidelines for coding these disorders, where the codes are found in the ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS code books. Also included are practice scenarios to help understand the coding guidelines and locate the correct codes.

for a medical condition due to substance use, abuse or dependence, report a code for the condition and a code from chapter 5. The guidelines give the example of alcoholic pancreatitis due to alcohol dependence, use K85.2, alcohol induced acute pancreatitis, and F10.20, alcohol dependence. See guideline for chapter 5.b.4).

Modifiers are just used on cpt codes. Pair a diagnosis code with the corresponding PCs code. I have a bunch of videos on the PCs characters that may help.

This is coded as dependence in remission. A patient never really is "cured" from the dependence but may stop using. See F14.21.
