1) @20:38 You can just go into the bushes with the torch. They will just alight. Or drop a torch in the harvestable area (not grass that you can't harvest). It will set on a forest fire. (Great if you have been destroying charcoal and later in the game you need it badly. The Blackened trees will disintegrate quickly into charcoal. 2) You can also place beds and campfire inside big rocks. It should say sheltered for the bedroll for it to not disappear on you. Hunting for a big rock is also a priority since it shields you from Bad storms. (light rains, light winds etc is not going to take away much health even if you're outside) 3) Wood piles and stone piles can also be used as a tower to shoot predators. They can't damage it and / or scale it (unless its near a cliff which they can scale and get to you) 4) Build near steep cliffs. The pathing of animals is quite bad in this game. Most of them will get stuck on cliffs or while getting off from the water. Those animals, most of the time will not run or attack if they are predators. (Lure bears into the water, they cant attack and swim at the same time) 5) @33:00 you can build up to 16 base panels on one pillar if you just go around it. (not realistic, but should work for initial bases) I think 2 spaces until it turns yellow (red means it will collapse) 6) If you assign a number to the buildable, once you're finished placing you can press that number key 1-9 to craft the piece that was assigned to it (as long as you have the materials) 7) @34:40. make it simpler to build. Put in the windows first and the walls later. I generally put windows on each corner (so I can access my stations from those windows without going in (especially skinning bench) 8) @39:00 Use the bone sickle if needed. It gives you twice the amount of wheat, berries, Plant fibre etc. 9) Carrying iron ore is heavier than the smelted Iron ingots. So if possible, set up a smelter in each cave if you can. (a fire place to store all the smelted iron) I'm sure you have covered most of these in the video. Sorry, couldn't watch the whole video, I still want to discover a lot of things myself, so not watching the whole thing. Hope you find at least 1 useful tip in this basic list that I have. Tip 6 was one I didn't know the cheese mechanics so that animals can't get to you im not a fan of at all. But thank you for the tips. Someone can maybe use it if they struggle too much.

so i may not go exactly how you did to start but this really gives me a good idea of what is coming and what isnt worth it... i had never thought about using fire pits as storage and so much more. i still havent figured out how to tell were caves are but maybe thats something not on my map yet

I always put my bedroll in the center of the floor. It is easy to walk over and that leaves the walls for the crafting benches, etc.

absolutely great beginner guide. Its amazing. I was a little afraid of killing wolves and bears, but now i think i can purchase the game. It looks so nice. But what i still wonder… if the mission timer comes to zero ,and you leave the planet, what happens to your wonderfull builded base? will it be erased and you have to start from zero? @@enjayflave Bears attack animation is too slow and with the movement speed buffs you can run past them easily. Polar bears on the other hand is still very dangerous.

Best tip I worked out, during a storm find a big rock and make yourself a cave for shelter

Solo Talent Tree is a Must for Solo Players and then you can Go the route I went. Cave worms hit very hard but are very weak so just dodge.

I always harvest tree stumps first since they give more wood than the the tree sections. Get around 50-8] from stumps

Agrees but xp and speed is a focus and you don't need a ton of wood unless your building the carpentry base which I will only be doing on the last mission.

I remove the stumps so that the tree doesn't grow back. (like near my bases or out-houses ;)). I don't want them falling in the storms damaging my buildings.

@@KalpeshPatel78 That’s a good idea I always build my base in the clear and then place a lightning rod or 2 on my roof so that I never have to worry about storms even if I’m not there.

If you are collecting wood for use...harvest the stumps as well. There is near half a tree worth of wood in stump alone. If you are still leveling at the time. Skip the stump and cut a new tree.

@@Luthaisagreed..and agreed with the original tip. Wood is not an issue itself. But with all the emphasis on speed from your tips..as well as others ive seen...this is often overlooked. If one is in need of a lot of wood for a build...and want it done a bit quicker, stumps help. There is a lot of wood in a stump.

Yes. That works great. Craft 2 or 3 since a storm can destroy the one you have. There wasn’t rods when I made the video.

First research the blueprint then it should be the first 3 crafting stations. Can't exactly remember now.

I personally don't agree with a lot of how you did your tech tree, but otherwise not a terrible guide for beginners EDIT: I meant to say talent. Not tech. Because you are limited in the amount of talent points that you get. While the talent spec that Luthais goes with IS fairly decent, always keep in mind that the way you play a game may not be the same as how he does. For example. I run the bow tree in combat due to that being my preference and playstyle.

I have actually counted this: "Guys" you have said 361 times and "Boys" 582 times. :) But it was a great vid man.

No just use what you have you can level up to level 99 for more blueprints and if you pick the wrong talents it’s not the end of the world.

I agree with everything except for the fact that you're putting your view distance as "LOW" - you need to be able to see further, especially to see predators

I'm not sure what you're saying you miss by having it on a higher setting... you see more and you see all the plants you need like fruits and veggies and medicinal plants before the shrubs, grass and ferns

I play the game naturally without cheesing it or farming mission and im at level 29 after the 4 missions because the gathering mission took very long so I don't agree sorry.

Using coal to heat the furnace is a bad idea while this is a rare resource and the wood is a common and easy to gain material.

Tips: if you don’t use rtx then you can turn off DLSS because it makes the game looks grainy for me

Okay this has nothing to do with this video which is great. but I have a bone to pick with the people that thought up this game. 1. you land on a unknown planet. 2. the planet has lots of trees and animals running swimming around. 3. You have to gather oxygen rocks to put in your suit, ok. 4. So my question is, WHAT THE HELL ARE THE ANIMALS BREATHING IF ITS NOT OXYGEN. 5. If they are breathing oxygen then why the hell do the players need oxygen rocks to stay alive.

Press Y while looking at it. With the upgrade hammer in your hand and the upgrade part in your inventory you just left click after choosing the upgrade path.

my base always gets half destroyed from any storm thats comming.. your house did not even take damage at 35:00 .. my is half derstryoed after a bit of rain

Never count on wood. I just loged in, cooked me 1 meat and BAM my whole frkin base burned down with everything I had inside. I didn't learn that turn out fire item. Didn't even know that it can happen just like nothing.

Don’t walk over or get very close to your fire because you get set on fire and then your flames burn down your whole base.

@@Luthais I didn't I had my campfire in my corner. I guess its when you login your torch is bugged. When I log off while using torch and login back, the torch is active but my character is not holding it.Maybe that torch which was bugged caused the fire.

At the moment yes. Rocks use to be the best but now everything get damaged

Hmm, strange I haven't played to much but I have a water cooled 1080TI and on 4K with everything on max I rarely got under 60 FPS. Which sucks since the bears killing me over and over was just due to my inadequate skill level!

When you need a lot of wood yes. At the start you just need the XP so then you leave the stump.

From my first try I'd say the game is perfect in theory. In practise I found it an extreme grind combined with cool the game has bears and I just died without a chance moments!

@@Nemesis-pe7mw You can dodge bears by moving left when they're getting closer and charging. It'll make the bear go past you and do a U turn for another charge. Meanwhile you can tick arrows at their face. Or spears if you're so inclined. A bone spear will 1 shot bears under lvl 40 ish if you hit a crit headshot. =)

If -you- -set- -shadows- -to- -low- -you- -can- -see- -under- -trees- also 'o' takes you straight to the crafting menu and there are other keys for the rest of the menus Edit to be less 'cheese'

@@3960xRocks Yes. All animals give you a lot of xp put the predators gives you the most so just keep hunting. Take it slow the missions are going to get very hard so don't rush it.

Gets swim speed to stab fish... fails at it then switches back to bow.... probably should have saved those points

@@Luthais buy a broken new car. tires can hold pressure, doors cant close, air conditioner is blowing hot air, warming when needed at winter stops without any particular cause, oil leaks and its spends more gas then it should but lets look on positive side....you dont have to walk anymore or wait for a bus.

Your graphics settings don't make sense to me. Anyone watching this with a 3060ti should not be playing on these settings.

I think it looks very good on Epic settings. On lower settings it doesn't look great
