As a family we have visited Es Cana many times, the last time was in 2019. There are plenty of good value for money places to eat and drink (and a few that are VERY expensive). Holiday accommodation is pretty reasonably priced and all of the hotels and apartments we have stayed in have been excellent. (We are budget holiday people!) If you stay away from the few pricier places you can easily find bars selling simple food and tapas at prices on a par with the UK (and often much cheaper), and a large beer for less than €2.50. Buying property or long term renting in the town, or anywhere in Ibiza is out of the question for many of the locals, even tiny one bed apartments command prices that make your eyes water! The town and main beach are beautiful and the people are super-welcoming. If you're respectful and polite they go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home.

Right across road from the coral beach hotel and down hill then left is the hippy commune and small beach , it's interesting to see

I knew the Ibiza in the glory days of the early 80s - im sure it was even better before that.Pesetas were the currency and no Euros and prices were great.Now its all over and its a huge rip off.Property prices are impossible for normal people and it will get worse due to the masses of new buildings going up especially in San Antonio.
