That livery on the 747 is fantastic

Gorgeous 727 and DC-10-30 :) I like the 90's very much in aviation because there was so much more diversity in aircraft types! Nowadays, all we can see are twinjets... Even the quad-jets are disappearing...

I've been planning to go to Canada as Air Transat operate and A310 between the UK and Canada, for a reasonable price too! I think it'd be really wierd crossing the Atlantic on such a small(but fairly wide) aircraft!

Probably because it wasn't flying there when we filmed...

its deffo a DC-9 , Iberia never had 717s, and . the Tail cone is the shape of a DC-9.. if its not a 9. its a MD-87, but the 87 has the MD-11 style tail .

+auds6 bueno.los tiempos cambian.no seas tan pesimista,la aviacion ha cambiado como todo pero yo estoy seguro de que es para bien.yo actualmente trabajo en MD80 pero se que esta en sus ultimas y pronto desaparecera paro vyenen aviones nuevos y mejores ;)

Sad but true. it happened in the late 1970's at Tenerife Norte Airport. The Tenerife Sur Airport was built as a result of this accident at Tenerife Norte.

Why back in the 90s Big wide body planes where used to fly 4h to TF?? Why not today?? Why there are no B777 or B767 or A330 landing at TFS or TFN anymore??

Nunca he llegado a comprender, como otras lineas aereas, siguen volando con el B-747 e Iberia hace un porron de años que los dio de baja. Alegan que economicamente no eran rentables, que llevaban tres tripulantes en vez de dos.... pero pienso que las otras compañias tambien quieren ganar dinero y os mantienen volano.

That was in the 1970s at Tenerife Norte Airport (TFN). The accident was the reason why Tenerife Sur Airport (TFS) was even built.

Its a 727 im afraid! Besides I don't think any Tupolevs operated in these parts of Europe.

Las compañías que mantienen el 747 en vuelo tienen el 747-400, mientras que el que tenía Iberia eran 100 y 200, modelos más antiguos e insostenibles. También me parece que tenían algún modelo 300 y un único 400, todos alquilados, el 400 a Air Atlanta.

Once upon a time Iberia flew every mayor aircraft! All of the Boeings, DC-10, MD-80s, DC-9, 73, 74, 75, 76... Nowadays it's all just plastic...
