I was looking for a 5-string bass to mess around with and couldn't pass up the price for this one. The P J pickup configuration sealed the deal! I'm quite pleased with the value you get for your money. The J pickup is a tiny bit noisy, but I can live with it.

I've been looking for something with a PJ setup to play when I'm not using my Jazz Special and I think I'm sold on one of these. Great playthrough

I still love these bass. I caught you on one of the bass hangs and told you about my TMB30 and TMB600 that I have. I think the 505 (grey) replaced the 600 and 605 that they had in a natural wood finish. I've played the TMB 100 and 105 in stores. For some reason I've always really liked these bases. Good bang for the buck and fun to play. I know people joke about the TMB 2000 prestige model but I still think it would be awesome to check one of those out some time.

i love these basses! the deal breaker for me was the neck weight, wasnt horrible but just enough to hinder my playing, bummer, cuz i love the pickups(505) and the overall look and feel

I just bought one with the roasted neck & fingerboard and they only come in silver gray metallic a lot of companies are getting confused about the model which is the tmb-505 not 605 (the 605 has square inlays like the '70s Jazz Basses. PS... That little switch is "ON/OFF" pre-amp

Have you done any reviews for the Ibanez AFB200 bass?

  • @timseitz199

Looking at the headstock, I feel like Ibanez designed this bass as a 4 string and threw the 5 string on afterwards. All of the EADG strings look to be fairly straight through from the nut to the tuners. The B string has a funky angle and not straight through like the other 4 strings seem to be. If that was me designing it I would have moved the B string tuner to a different spot on the headstock so it also was a straight though string instead of angled like it is now. If that would have been problematic in any way based on he current headstock, I think putting a different headstock or doing something to the current one to add more room for proper tuner placement would have helped.

Been trying to find a review on this bass. My friend bought this to tune to Drop A to play with me. I know it's not a huge jump from B standard but how does the low end hold up on it?
