I was gonna get one of these but Ibanez have pulled it off the market !

It looks like Ibanez modeled this bass after the Warwick Streamer bass . It’s an awesome bass for the money .

I had one like that . Mine had a natural flat finish. It has Nordstrand pickups. The pickups had a lot of background noise . I sold mine. I did like the feel of the bass. It just had A lot of noise coming from the pickups.

Still an issue with the new SR650 “E” versions and it’s mainly due to the bridge pickup which can be resolved by ordering a different bridge from Nordstrand. I know it’s a pain but if you like the bass enough to do such a thing, then it’s worth it.

They're so hard to find

Ibanez is 16.5mm string spacing-- so the Nordstrands are a true bonus, for instance if you ordered a new set it's a $40 premium on top of msrp. I was lucky enough to find a full set with the preamp from a part-out, will install them in the Glarry GIB 5 (which has Fender spaced jazz pickups and an Ibanez spaced bridge-- the strings don't even come close to sitting over the pole piece centers.)

I can only assume the SR655E trumps the SR505 model because of the Nordstrand P/J pickups and wood? I own a SR500 but in need of the lower B. I was just looking at the SR1345B (the panga panga and Purple Heart is so beautiful), but this video of the SR655E helped sway my decision. Plus at half the price 1345B? Oof.

Off the rack, IBANEZ NEVER let's U down, Beautiful, Ultra playable, and UNTIL NOW, of Late,AFFORDABLE!! Used, STILL Superior!! Let go of an Early 5, All Black, Regret it to this DAY, Also my 506!! Sigh...

That bass was my second pick .... absolutely love it .... for the most part I am a pick player so the closer string spacing is welcomed

Hello Bully Thakidd. Great video. It helped me a lot in deciding to buy it. Hey, you might get a kick out of this. While looking for a review of this bass I came across one other and you would be amazed to know it is your review verbatim. I had both vids up side by side. He even copied the moment when you were reaching to adjust the camera and decided not to. That's when I stopped watching. If you are curious, he calls himself 112 Deezy. Anyways, thanks for posting the review.

The Ibanez is superior in every way. Having both , it’s really not comparable. Especially when it comes to build quality.

I have both, and the sire, while it sounds nice, it doesn’t compare quality wise at all. The sires are all electronics, no substance. And they are not made very well. Good studio basses if you know basic set up procedures. But the ibanez is a road hog with amazing versatility.

What amp and cab do u use here?

I love the sound of Ibanez but I dont like the sound of this so much. Too dark. It reminds me of a fretless hybrid.

Actually this Ibanez can get real bright. The reason it sounds too dark are the nylon tape wounds strung on the bass. Probably not the best choice for this video.
