I own a Ibanez 5 string with the same pickups and controls- I think it's a 750 or something very similar to this. I bought it because I am a guitarist (first) and needed to play bass for a band and needed something a little more familiar - feeling too clumsy and restrained on a typical fender p bass. Also your accent rocks just keep talking and saying useful stuff. I don't think it's easy to slap on this bass than a p bass but if your technique is good of course you can do that too! It also has a balance to it sitting on your shoulder- my p bass always felt too heavy at the headstock - this one sits balanced and not too heavy.

Nice review... Very beautiful bass.. it's in my bucket list. Currently i have the ibanez GSR 5 string. Those budget basses. Also, you speak good fluent English and it was quite engaging to hear you play and review. 👍🏻

Very informative review.👍 How much it weights? Does it have neck dive when u playing stand up with strap?

Super cool vid. Your slap bass technique is incredible. I just picked up the sgr 600e 4 string and a luthier got ahold of it and did an amazing job. I like to tune super low. And its fretting out on the first fret. dumb question but i should be able to cure that from the the bridge without sacrificing ibanez legendary fretboard action. Correct?

Well reviewed...I have this bass in the blue burst..the neck is a 5 piece Jotoba & Walnut with Rosewood fretboard,Abalone inlays... great bass's even when played passively & still have a pan pot, volume & passive tone control...the Nordstrand pickups are really good & no noise with a quiet pre-amp...i play it active or passive depending on if i have remembered to take a fresh battery...duh! sounds really good with a pick for Rock, Punk etc a very versatile bass, well made with great pickups, it is a good bass for recording

Tell me, is this tool lightweight? Is it comfortable for you to play it with your left hand: is it a comfortable neck? @@kotanel .....they are pretty light bass's, 8lb - 9lb, very comfortable to play with a slim countoured body & a beautiful 5 piece slim neck..Jazz width nut, 38.1mm....it can go louder in active mode but the pickups are good quality Nordstrand passive pickups with 3 band eq, 3 position mid, pan pot & volume in active mode....passively it sounds good, should be loud enough live played passively...i wipe the neck & body with a warm moist new clean cotton cloth after playing & dry with a cotton towel....

Thanks man ! I bought it just because at the time I needed a bass for the studio where I need all sorts of sounds. Unfortunately I love the sounds of a JBass or a P bass but they doesn't fit in my hands so I ended up buying this because it was really comfortable and versatile . But funny enough I never use it on my official releases ahah

I bought one in July, after playing bass for 30 years, and play it through a BB-1X Bass Driver. They are lovely to play and look at.

Man I have the hands of 8year old boy ahahah don't worry ahaha or maybe you are a beginner 'cause after 16 year of playing my left hand got able to do wider stretches and got a little bit bigger than my right one

Great review, I'm looking at buying this bass and this was helpful. I love the little bit of rumble it has, especially with the pick - I think it's called growl or snarl but I'm not sure lol. Are you running this through a simulated amp or FX or anything or just recording it straight? Sorry if that question doesn't make sense, I'm new to bass. Just trying to figure out if that growl is from the bass or the way it's processed. Thanks!

Thanks man no problem !! For the specifications demo I'm going straight into the interface and then for the tones examples I'm running it trough my Headrush FX pedalboard and I'm using some ampeg simulation and all sorts of pedals and FX. Good choice btw And lastly I will suggest you to use it as clean as possible if you are a beginner and then with a pedalboard or some plugin try to find your sounds!

Thank you, amazing playing! I have a question, the SR600 NTF has no active/passive switch, but the pickups are passive, does this mean it's only passive and the battery might be a problem, or would you be able to play it even passively when the battery dies ? Thank you

I'm not sure but I think that they won't work if the battery is dead ...sorry for not being super accurate

You can play it passive with a dead battery. You can take the battery out and use switch as a mute if you want
