Which is the only thing a closeted person could ever ask for coming out I’m sure.
she knew…she was just waiting for him to tell her. fiona was and still is their mother.

The acting Emmy Rossum performs in that moment, her face goes from "OH MY GOD! He told me!" to "Thank you for telling me!" to her then "I know." all in just a few seconds.
What a mother kind of thing to say “I know” my mom said the same thing when my sister came out

Well Fiona is his sister, not his mother. I know she acts like there mom but it’s his sister so I kinda get how she would say that.

If only people would realise how hard and difficult it is for a young boy to actually say the words IM GAY ,, I’m remember when I had to say it ,,, years of hiding it and scared even suicidal over excepting im gay, and everyone finding out. It’s terrifying.❤
I love how chill that scene is of Ian telling Fiona

One of the best shows of all time.
It’s crazy how many people from shameless became massive in the past few years, Cameron has a Star Wars game series and was essentially the joker of a dc show called “Gotham”, Jeremy Allen White being the lead of an Emmy winning tv show and others being very successful too.
Wow. I forgot how young they looked
They did Fiona SO fucking dirty in later seasons

Damn, when's he gonna tell Merrin?
I loved Emmy Rossum as Fiona.
I hated Jimmy in this episode. This scene of him getting an ultimatum was his own doing, and he tried to get Fiona to leave with him for his own selfish reasons.

Man this is why I can't watch shows like this. They just make me hate people even more. Those kids futures were worth season tickets to him, like they aren't even human.

Saying i know or knew is the shittiest thing you can say to that person at that moment. Im speaking from experience. Even if it was obvious in neon blinking fucking lights say anything but that because it pulls the rug out of that persons past they are standing on the edge of a new future don't remove their past.
@sageauthor31
Ай бұрын
I think it’s a totally fine thing to say, but it can depend a lot on the person. Saying “I know” can be really meaningful to a lot of people, it normalizes it a lot, it can make it a lot more casual, and it lets them know that you still love and care about them because you knew this whole time and it didn’t change anything between the two of you.
@Mayflower11x
Ай бұрын
Not really it depends on the person for some people that’s one of the best things you can say for some it’s the worst you can’t really generalise it and tell people what they should or shouldn’t say when someone comes out to them because if someone’s coming out to you then you probably know the person enough to have a better sense of how to respond to that in real life
@janekmaciejewski490
Ай бұрын
Well it's not supposed to be a Perfect environment. And don't generalise like that. It depends, I know get slightly offended (unfortunately) when somebody's like "called it" but if it was my mom (she practically is)(how much would I give to get similar reaction from mine) I think it would mean a lot. That she knows me well even without straight-forward communication, pays attention. That would mean a lot I think. But also I know that for some people that's an major offence

Try the british original. Far better
I’d tell him “I still love you” but I’d explain why I can’t support it, because it will harm his body, mind, and soul, and that’s not true love to support a sin that will hurt you. A lifestyle like that will cause cancer, and these attractions are only caused by trauma in the first place. But these people are told they’re “born that way” so they think they’re stuck with it. But no one ever tells them there are “former” gays, people who’ve shared their stories of healing and change and now no longer struggle with these feelings.

Well, luckily for real people and for this fictionalized TV person, you don't run their life. You don't know them and you are not the maker of the universe. Your opinion is jut that. And imo it's a bad one.

@@chuckrussell-coons5866 The Maker of the universe is the One who said it is unnatural and a distortion of creation. And He always has a reason for telling us not to do things, besides the harmful affects to mind and soul, there are the physical aspects such as AIDs, anal warts, genital cancer, HIV, ect. The body doesn't even treat it as normal. If you;d like more information on the origin of such attractions, look up the video 'Dr. Joseph Nicolosi Answers Your Questions'
