You know what’s a crime, that IAMX or Chris Corner isn’t a household name. He’s super talented and I enjoy hearing his music a lot. I hate myself for missing out on his concert last year.

Holy Moly! Now THAT is Chris Corner with more of the melodious writing and existential topics plus cool beats and a more standard song-crafting composition than in the recent modular synth, rather abstract, random-sounding explorations. I've been so curious as it seemed he was engaged in creative exploration recently, and how it would combine with his terrific "pop" song-writing skills. Whew! Can't wait to hear the rest of the record! This song is going to be on repeat for a while. Wish it was longer.

Integrating some Scandinavian epic melos into IAMXs' ethereal and rebellious Corners' voice and immersive electronics was definitely a great and harmonic idea.

The lyrics are SO POWERFUL with meaning and relevance and the gaze of an Artist upon these... volatile times... this could well be one of my favorite IAMX songs.

I listened to this via Apple Music this morning (Tokyo-time). Very simple, moody pulsating synth w/beats atop which Chris and Ms. Huld provide ethereal, emotional vocals. I agree that this one is very good indeed. Hypnotic and dreamlike.

Two weeks ago I posted my initial impression of this track. I am commenting again because, you know, this is some serious voodoo... I mean that, of course, in the best possible way. There is something really, really special and powerful about this track. I keep coming back to it again and again. That line about the "power of our ancestors"... Perhaps the magic lies in this. Not only can I not stop listening to this track, both when at home and/or when walking through the streets of Tokyo with my "Audio Technica" earbuds in, but it also inspired me to create a new 10 minute-plus long electronica track entitled "The Tower," which became the title track of a solo LP I had been working on at that time. (Note that the track in question I wrote and recorded sounds nothing like "The Ocean," nor does it share the same theme lyrically, or at least not in any direct sort of way, but listening to this song really inspired me to do it, and that is part of its magic.) Just... Wow. Had to add a follow-up comment. I know I am repeating myself, but I will say it again: very special, this one (and I have been a fan of Chris' music for several years now and have heard most everything he has released as IAMX).

The song is so all-embracing, that it is almost difficult to express everything that comes with it with words.
