The equation in the name one simplifies out to 10x+9, but when he says "ignore the nine" he's essentially telling you to subtract 9 and divide by ten, which will just leave you with x. It's not magic, it's just deceptive wordplay.

But anywas, I watched other correlated videos of this channel and they are even more lame and lazy. It's like the person just takes some random optical illusions and quiz-tricks he finds on Instagram and doesn't even bother to put the effort to understand it (nor confirm it). Some tricks are overly repetitive, some other are almost dumb but he makes it appear as "shockingly amazing" and people too lazy to think fall for it and are amazed and impressed (like the guessing your name, it's almost an insult to anyone capable of counting up to 5)

4:30 there are actually 5 pages missing. books always start with page 1 on the right. that means page 1 is 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, etc. so when you rip out page 7 you are ripping out page 8 as well. when you rip out pages 100 and 101, then you are ripping out 99, 100, 101 and 102, because 100 and 101 are separate pages, and the same is for 222 and 223. i cant be the only one who saw this right

@@harrypotterfan197 Nah, you can go pick up any book and check it yourself, the answer will always either be 5 or 4. Depending on whether your book has page number-one on the right (5) or left (4). This is because not all adjacent numbers are on the same physical page. Thank about it, if page 9 and 10 are on the same physical page, then clearly 10 and 11 cannot be. The difference is whether the pair of numbers starts or ends with an odd number. I will point out to the first comment that not /all/ books always have page 1 on the right. Some books are weird. So the question is actually inconclusive / poorly worded. A really cool version of the question would have been "torn out pages 9, 10, 100, 101, 200 and 220". The answer would /always/ be 5. Since 9 and 10 are always opposite of 100 and 101. One of the pairs will share a physical page, the other won't, so that'd make 3, and the last two numbers cannot, so it'd total 5. Of course, all of this goes out the window if your book skips page numbers in the middle of it for some reason, lol.

My go: I skipped over the second 'you' the first time, but then corrected myself. The three first words i saw were genuine, passionate, and spoken. I was tricked by the zig zag circle thing. I knew where the "2 dots in a line" thing was going because I've seen it so many times before. I was tricked by the purple-yellow square thing. I found the "HIDE AND SEEK" message. I could not solve the colorful circles thing. I do not see the second image of Marilyn Monroe. I was thinking of Broccoli. I saw the speed change. I heard the kid say "Don't Nap." Full run for me: I glanced over the sentence before reading it so when I read it I got both "you"s. Also I've seen this one too many times before. Genuine: I tend to say what I really think even if I may hurt someone, like if someone asks me "is this shirt good on me?": I don't like to say "yea yea it is!" when I don't think that, just to not be mean. I thought it was 5 pages because when you open a book to the front page it’s obviously an odd number, therefore even numbers would be on the backs. So 7 & 8 are one page, but page 100 is on the back of 99, and 101 is on the front of a new page. Also 222 is on the back of 221 and 223 is a new page. Unless the book has pictures. So there are variables. lol

I thought the book had 5 pages torn out because the second two pairs start with an even number??? Page 7 and 8 are the same page since it starts as an odd number. 100-101 and 222-223 start even, so I assumed that They simply didn't tell you that pages 99, 102, 221, and 224 were also torn out. Also there were no mentions of page breaks in the book, meaning that considering that would be extraneous information. All in all, the question is missing some details. If it were rewerded to start the second two pairs with an odd number, we would have avoided needless confusion.
