yay! As an American raised on Asterix & Obelix, the American is funnier than the English... the Druid is Getafix, the Chief is Vitalstatistix, the dog is Dogmatix, Fishmonger is Unhygenix, the blacksmith is Fullyotomatix...and the hot chick is Panacea! LOL! I went to Parc Asterix and DLP in early June '22, a week before you did, Chris! I speak some French and kow all the Asterix stories, so I laughed and rode ALL the rides, lol they sell the Zeus ducky undies somewhere there! The Pegasus Express is supposed to be like the subway or transportation system, with maps, flight times and getting sent away backwars by Medusa! Gret projections in that one! I'm SO glad you got to experience it with lovers of Asterix! Yay!

Fun fact…the “old” Disney channel back in the 80s showed the Asterix & Obelix movies! I loved them! Of course, they were in English. 😉 My dad had some of the comic books as well so I was introduced to these characters at a very young age and instantly fell in love. I had no idea that I would later on live in France for a few years and learn French. Sadly, I never got to go to Parc Asterix though. I’m glad you got to experience it, Chris! Thanks for sharing! ❤

Once thing I've noticed watching this channel is that this guy is particularly uncultured (he didn't even seem to recognise the Manneken Pis in this video). Maybe unfair to judge everyone in the States by his shortcomings? I want to believe he's not representative of the average American.

  • @infin8um

@@Basauri.48970 I'm going to presume that you're trolling. Not knowing the existence of a French comic is obviously no indication of being "uncultured". I grew up in an area where Beano & Dandy and Asterix were around 50 years ago, others didn't. Chris has specific knowledge you or I are unlikely to have.. that is the way people work. Intellectual snobbery should never be mistaken for "culture".

We were there in December! Growing up in Europe Asterix was a big part of my childhood and I loved the books. Honestly, a lot of the humor comes from puns in the character names and cultural assumptions and doesn't translate well into English, especially for American audiences that don't know what they are making fun of. But as a kid in 1980s Germany, Asterix was the best.

Greate video. Well done! You took the chalenge, and you nAIld it !!! (Just like the Matterhorn maccarone chalenge) Every sign was in french, every spoken word was in french. If you don't know the commic books, you don't even see the jokes. In the beginning you seem to be lost and struggeling. Later on you loosened up, and .... fun with friends. It is also nice to see your friends involved. And to know them a little bit. ( for how long is The bold and the beautifull running on american tv ?) They realy help you to make the "show". They do funny things. They have an opinion about the rides, the food the themeing. Small talk like: one of your friends asks if you seen his backpack. It make it less a commercial and more like: me, the viewer. is with you guys, a day in a theme park. The core content of your video is (traveleing to ) theme park info. You do that extremly well. But i've seen video's of you, and now and then this guy pops up. (that's weird... is he just annoying ??) Much later it becomes clear he is part of your group. (and has his own channel) Those video's have a complete different vibe. You are an entertainer, you are a storyteller by nature. Well done. ts 46: 46 well done 50:57 fun with friends 1:01:20Jmmy's super voice. (superbe voix Jimmy)

We had a bobsled coaster at Great Escape in Lake George NY but the line always was slow and didnt run alot. They just tore it down and built a small family wooden coaster.

I loved the Asterix and Obelix films, I had no idea there was a park, it looks so fun, too bad my French is so poor, still it's great to know it exists. I always thought the dog was called Dogmatix, silly me.
