Keeping his personal collection out in the open like that must be a massive insurance risk. Not very wise.

Hey! Chris here, owner of Ready. Set. Game! Thanks for stopping by and checking us out and thanks for the great review/shout out here! (Also, thanks to all the kind people in the comments!) It's pretty surreal to see my shop being known by so many people. We've been around for 7 and a half years now and not in my wildest dreams did I think we'd have so many people from all over who not only have been to the store, but loved it so much! It's an honor and it's humbling. Please come by anytime and hang out when you're around. We can maybe do some videos together, podcast, whatever. My life is gaming and I'm down for it! Thanks again for stopping by and I'm so glad you loved the store!

Local store I frequent has solid pricing. Mostly near market, never seen something over market, and sometimes they decided to downprice things. Like I remember they got in a couple 32x units and decided to charge $99 instead of the $150 you'd see online. It's 100% the owner's whim lol. And, usually, they seem to just keep the prices where they are until the item is sold. Not the biggest selection, as it's whatever is brought in, but I'd say a good mix.

I think Phoenix missed the point on the negative reviews of store number 1, the reason it was so well stocked was due to the owner having his personal collection out and charging at or above market price for almost everything available . It’s easy to have to have lots of inventory if no one is willing to pay the price you want to sell it for.

Hey gents. I've shopped here for years. He's straight to the point about his intentions just like Caleb. Always done honest business. For anything expensive (not just rare) he pays anywhere from 60-80% cash that is why he has so many good titles on the wall, he takes care of customers so yeah he has to charge market that's business. The first store looked way worse than the other 2. Mall stores you would expect to be small. I don’t know I think I would be extremely annoyed if half the items at the store I’m looking at are for a personal collection and then the other half aren’t priced. Unbelievable that stores actually advertise that they are selling fake inventory. The penalty in fines and possible jail time clearly isn't worth the risk. I’ve been in the first store. I live maybe 35 minutes from Port Orange. It’s OK. We went there a week after they first opened and nothing was priced. And a lot of stuff was not for sale. But the girl that was working for Jose was actually very very nice. The few things that were marked were actually not that bad. I walked away with two switch games and my fiancé got a small stack of game gear games, we went back there a month ago for the first time since that visit on a random Saturday morning. Google showed they were open but everything was locked up. We assumed they closed up shop for good. Will have to give it another chance when we go back down to that area in two weeks. While down there, we always visit the video game dungeon in the Volusia/Daytona flea market. He has excellent prices and a ridiculous selection.

There's a very infamous store in my state, Michigan, that is routinely lauded as one of the worst game stores ever. To even get inside the store and shop, they take a photo copy of your license/ID. The store is also cash-only, they sell repros as real games, and also they don't actually follow their price tags. They literally have a sign on the counter saying "We reserve the right to modify/change/adjust any/all pricing labels and stickers". They also ink-stamp consoles, and discs for "their protection plan". It's insane.
I love seeing a store owner's personal collection. It's usually stuff you never see anywhere else.
Happy new year Caleb

“Game Boss” in Cerritos Mall (Los Cerritos Center, CA) is one of the worst video game stores I’ve ever seen. $1300 PS5, $1400 Xbox series X, $60 used copy of MW2 on PS3 ($5 on eBay), stolen artwork, etc! The reviews online are terrible!!! I got off easy by not buying anything. The owner is rude and sells bootleg games and accessories too
In my hometown, there’s a video game store called “Gamers in Control” located in Salinas, California inside the Northridge Mall where they sell new and used games from every console!
In the Oviedo Mall, there is a store called Hudson's and specializes in retro and semi-modern video games, I love it there and usually trade-in my games there, there is also a game store called Gamers Inc and it is my favorite overall, the prices are exceptional and the selection they have is amazing.

Not a fan of the first shop keeping every single thing behind glass it seems. I go to a game shop to browse, to physically inspect the items and be able to hold them so it's got to be a bit annoying to constantly ask an employee to look at something. Also, having his personal collection has to make his insurance be even more expensive plus, I wouldn't want my personal collection to be on display, no need for that and, it takes up space that could be used for inventory.

items behind the glass by itself are not a problem. First I check the titles and if I am interested, I will ask them to show it and then I inspect in full detail. Of course cheap games have way less reasoning to be locked like that. So there is that.

Caleb! LIFE CHANGEING ADVICE- I hope you see this - do NOT do rogaine if you are not prepared to do this for the rest of your life. Also, it doesn’t target the front part, it only is the crown of the head. Start taking finasteride NOW. Also you can get topicals, but it varies from person to person. If you are really concerned about it and kinda pricey, you can do platelets. Do all of this instead of rogaine. My wife is a doctor. Btw. Not sure how I feel about having a personal collection at the store, not because we can't buy it (everything is for sale if the price is right), but because if someone breaks in and robs you, they also get your stash. Not sure how that would play out with insurance since it technically wasn't merchandise... not the mention any sentimental value.
