Skito Saddle Pads
I was in the market for a new saddle pad after my old one wore out.
Agnes, my riding mule, has a bad back and it makes a big difference to have a good saddle pad.

Ellis Canvas Tents
I reached out to Ellis Canvas Tents because I was just not too happy with my sleep system. I had seen their products before and was really impressed with the "Cowboy Bedroll". They sent me one to try and can say that so far it is the best I have used for Cowboy Camping.
Soon I hope I can get one of their Canvas Tents

I tend to grin when I hear providence rock or snake hill or rattlesnake mountain. My Uncles grandad came to Luna County in 1886. His open range ranch ran east to that hill. They tagged it “Orphan mountain “. We still call it that in the Family. They used it has an eastern land mark for the ranch. If you look it sits just east of the county line. Cattle brands were registered in the county in those days. We need to get together, I can show you places and tell you stories , you would really enjoy.

You know you could use a camera probe with a 3 foot or longer wand to look in the holes or crevices for gold and other treasures. I bought mine at an auto parts store and its meant for inspecting engine cylinders or inside walls in homes and etc. Most have a light and a way to control the direction of the camera. Just a thought, just remember me in case you find something😂👍.

I’d be willing to bet the Apache or Comanche viewed it as a spiritual mound. Probably went to the top , fasted 4-5 days seeking their Spirit animal…. Glad to see you getting around so well Brett. Nice adventure Brett, I think some of those Petroglyph sites were lookout points for the Natives and they made them to pass the time. Those low rock outcrops looked to have a lot of water erosion on them? I don’t know about rubbing rocks for Mammoths but, I’ve seen plenty used by cattle👍🏻

The rocks are called Megafauna Rocks. They were used by mammoths, mastodons and ground sloths. They are like glass from the years of rubbing. The bedrock mortars were used by the native Americans to grind up there mesquite beans. Cool place with lots of rattle snakes.

Very interesting place where the mountain top pokes out of the desert flats That area with the round holes in the rock is where seeds would be ground into flour for baking bread I always call those places gossip rocks as I know that many generations of people used them as is evidenced by how kind it takes to grind a hole in granite by hand with another rock Wouldn’t it be cool to reverse sound waves 🌊 in thin and be able to rewind history to record their conversations 😂 Thanks for the great adventure 🙏✝️🇺🇸

Hi. At 4.25-4.36 it looks like the entrance to a cave, blocked by an ancient rockslide or soemthing. May be the spanish gold is in there ? Can you train the dogs to smell gold? If you have the opportunity, may be it´s a good idea to ask the Hopi for the meaning of the petroglyphs. These holes in the rock look artifitial at least if this is the only spot where you find them. Climate must have been different, if there were mastodons. Wonderful adventure this tour! Thanks a lot! Greetings from Germany. Chris

I love the videos! But when i look at you videos, you seem yo miss some of the petros 😂 Like just after the rock you pointed out you just noticed, where you were wondering if there was any, the rock to you left seemed to have some pretty faded ones, you must go back there for a closer call! They must be really old tho have gotten that petina on it!❤

A bison rubbing rock is a place where bison would rub against the rock in spring to try to remove the loose fur from their winter coat. Stones that work well for this purpose would get used over and over, giving it a polished look and feel, usually along what would have been a broken edge. I strongly suspect the same thing for your mastodon rubbing rock - except it would be too tall to have been done by a bison/moose/elk or whatever other normal-sized animals are in the area.

Just before you announced that you had done your climbing and wanted to stay up high there was a rock with a very well scratched or carved out cross on a flat side of it facing you. Looked to be about a foot or two high. Maybe a marker if some kind?
