Talk about rattlers! It was Halloween day. And I was showing my neighbors new cowboy how to fill the syrup wagon. The valve on the overhead tank is set pretty high, someone stuck a log under it , to stand on. The cows had knocked the log over, I reached down to flip it up right, and ran my knuckles over a live snack hide!!!!! Dam!!! It was so cold he couldn’t move. Boy, now I could!

I saw that at a movie theater in th70’s. I’ll never forget that. Robert Redford was king of the world to me back then. The Great Waldo Pepper was another all time favorite. Movie theaters just aren’t what they used to be.

Thanks for the video. Can say I was paying attention when you said "bear". Three hours drive west gets us into the Rocky mountains. Out to a place called the Ya Ha Tinda (native). On the edge of a park where a lot of Horse people go out to ride the mountain trails. Have had a lot of problems with our government's tree hugging, over populating handling of the lions, wolves and grizzles. There was a couple folks (back packers), them and their dog, was killed out there a couple, three weeks ago. Ran up against an old sow grizzle with a hate on. The searchers had to put her down with some shotgun slugs. Sad to say on both counts.

Great adventure, thanks for the ride! Water always is an issue out here, and trickier when lookin for an isolated area. I keep a close eye on washes and arroyos. Digging out a corner in a potential spot ( damp, insects ) and rocking it in can give a reliable source. I've been doing my RV hide for the last 6 months. But I'm looking for backups in case I have to roll out on foot. Getting too friggin old to do much rucking though🙄

Harvesting animals is a term used up here in Canada I am Métis Aboriginal/Canadian/American My great grandfather was full blood Ojibwa. Makes me Métis in Canada, the government wasn’t politically correct back then and called us half breeds . Anyway we are allotted harvester tags if you have a harvester card issued by Metis federation. Different rules to conservation hunters, some abuse it . Some don’t We’re allowed to harvest wild game , traditional wild edibles and medical plants . Firewood etc That’s the Canadian government for you They control everything We are not a republic like in states We’re more socialist leaning communism up here. Unfortunately

It’s funny how people get so butt hurt nowadays over hunters killing animals for food… We start to use words like “harvest” vs kill… No matter how you look at it, its all gotta be killed to eat it… lol at least if you kill a wild animal he got to live free instead of living in a pen… Plus it’s possible you could miss your shot or something like that… It’s more humane in my opinion…🤷🏻‍♂️ People are so weird nowadays and most of them don’t have any common sense…😂 I guarantee you where I’m from if it wasn’t for deer hunters people would hit deer all the time in there fancy cars…😂 They just don’t see the big picture. They only allow you to take so many but it keeps the population under control… How does that not just make sense to them? 😂
