I think it has to do with her mast cells being random and reacting to things on some days and not others so even if she’s tried it before it can still react

Tom, thank you for helping Amy during this anaphylactic episide. Thumbs up! People say I'm OTT for not showering alone. This video is the exact reason why I don't shower home alone. I could see the county coroner coming out seeing me in all my glory. No thank you. Amy, I too hate that low sugar feeling. It's like you're trying to hear while being under water. Thank your family for all of their support. Don't firget that self-care comes first because water doesn't come from an empty cup.

Not being able to breath is very scary. I have some moderate/severe allergies to a lot of environmental things, but haven't needed anything outside of over the counter oral allergy meds, but about a week ago my throat did start swelling, and every time I got really relaxed while laying down, I'd stop breathing. Went to the doctor the next day and now have an inhaler and an appointment with the allergist to come up with a new plan to control my allergies. I'm glad you are doing better, and it definitely helps watching your vlogs and realizing that I'm not alone with some of my health issues. Also, so excited for you and Tom to be getting your own place!

After an anaphylactic shock my skinn feels completely itchy and everything is swollen i also have brain fog and just want to sleep. I normally also don’t eat anything because most of the time i go into anaphylaxis based on something i have eaten so i kinda don’t trust food enough to eat something.😂😂 It takes about a day and a half until I’m back to normal. Better not think about what all could have happened just be graceful that you survived it and concentrate on something else.💕💕💕 Also never question the epi pen just trust it and don’t panic. Love from Germany 😊😊

i had my first allergic reaction where i had to use my epipen, i felt like i was in a slight state of anaphylaxis for a week or two. it was super scary and i went to the hospital 3 days in a row. it took about 3-5 minutes for my throat to open back up. i threw up and knew it was anaphylaxis right away thankfully

The strangest things go through a persons head when they're experiencing near death. I specifically remember being in an ambulance, dying, and thinking "I'm really about to die because of a fucking pineapple". I was so mad that I was dying because of a fruit that, had I not been actively dying, I probably would have had a rage fit. It was definitely scary, don't get me wrong. I was absolutely terrified. It was just a weird thing that passed through me in the moment... So happy Tom was there to help and I'm happy that you were able to get through it. Bless you

That is so scary! I'm glad your okay, any time I've had an allergic reaction like that is when I've been stung by a bee. When I was a teen I almost died from a bee sting, my family and I didn't know I was severely allergic and we didn't have an epi pen. That wasn't really a thing 20 years ago, so yeah super scary when dealing with an anaphylactic reaction to anything.

I'm hypoglycemic(non diabetic)(also have other illnesses) but gurl I know the feeling of always having low blood sugar all too well, it's not great. There was a time when I fainted in the middle of a busy road while crossing and to this day I don't know how I got to the other side and to a pharmacy, my sugar level was fine and out of nowhere it dropped so quickly I didn't even feel my normal signs and symptoms till it was too late to react, couldn't get to go into my bag to get something quick to bring my levels back up either. I'm just thankful I didn't get hurt that day honestly. I love your videos 💕💕

Ah I'm glad that your ok for the most part. My doctor has said that I should go to the hospital after use of my EpiPen, because I would have no idea what to do after that and I get really bad panic attacks when my health is not good (though I've never had to use it so far, fingers crossed that I won't need to). Don't feel like you're making a bit deal out of it because it is a big deal. It is a serious situation and I'm so glad you weren't alone. Take it easy, check in with yourself, and relax as much as you can. Love you dear 😊✌

Reminds me how grateful I am for the NHS❤️ literally love you though. Also I have the libre, been using them for a couple of years now, they’re really good for tracking blood sugars especially for people who have trouble with food❤️ also did you know you can scan your libre using your phone? I always keep at least three of those glycogen injections about, so important❤️

I think it's more upsetting for my husband than for me. It's gotten to the point where if he hears me sneeze twice in a row he comes running full speed. My worst reactions usually begin with "shotgun sneezing" where you sneeze again and again with no pause between. Then it leads to laryngospasms, drooling, puking, loss of bladder control, uncontrollable shivering, hives, blistered eyeballs, blisters and swelling in my mouth... It all must look pretty dramatic but I'm usually pretty calm, oddly enough. Despite what it looks and sounds like, I can always get enough air. My main concern is making it to the toilet before wetting my pants.

Thank you for sharing about the Freestyle Libre. I've been seeing commercials on t.v. and was wondering about it. I don't know why the idea of having a needle sticking in my arm 24/7 freaks me out so much. I give myself insulin injections daily and prick my fingers. Forgive me, I don't mean to be insensitive - I know you and many people have much more than those little needles to deal with. But right there on your outer arm, does it hurt when it gets bumped?

Does Tom want to train my other half in how to appropriately respond in an emergency....lol? Im in heart failure and on several occasions when Ive been fluid overloaded and literally drowning from the inside (freaky feeling that one, bone dry but still drowning) hubs has wanted to make a coffee before he calls the ambulance, poor bugger, for some reason every time life gets super dramatic its either early morning or late at night. Props to both of you for being so calm and capable at dealing with life's dramas (I hate the whole "I feel like a drama queen" part of having chronic illnesses...even when Im literally dying I still feel so melodramatic). Good luck with the house building adventure. xxx

So sorry to hear about the anaphylaxis💔. Hopefully the new TPN will help with your blood sugars and you won't have those extreme highs and lows🤞. I have good news..I finally have an appointment on Monday with a general surgeon! One step closer to getting my guts fixed and some hydration going🙆‍♀️

I’ve used 13 epipens! One was just mouth hives so I totally could have waited but after the first epipen experience I was a bit paranoid. Thankfully my MCAS treatment is going well so I haven’t needed one since New Year’s Eve! My throat usually feels sore and swollen for a couple days and my doctor says that’s normal and my stomach is usually more sensitive than normal for a while.

For me, my SVT is much more symptomatic for a couple of days after having epinephrine. The palpitations feel different, even if the rate is the same.

Glad Tom was there so he could inject your EpiPen. That would be so scary. Glad you have someone with you all the time. Having your Libre glucose monitor is a great tool for keeping you safe with your blood sugar. Please take care of yourself and I like the sweatshirt Tom had on.

Omg that is so scary 😱😱😱. Also my cousin (my uncle is my dad twin, so they would have very similar genetics) got diagnosed with EDS, and there might be a small chance I have it as well. I getting a meeting soon with the hospital soon. I haven't got it as bad as you, but I do get pain in my knees and sometime have trouble standing up for long period of time. I nervous but I know it will help as I got really bad knees 😟

Hey Amy! I also use the Libre, donno if you know but there’s an app now for it which you can use to scan your sensor which is awesome cuz then you don’t have to carry the meter everywhere, it’s pretty great!

I got one on Amazon for like $20! And I was able to customize it. And they cant make you take off a medical ID. But if you're scared of being told you cant have it, get a necklace or key ring :)

What about necklace, you can hide, also the school shouldn't allowed that, they could get into serious trouble. You should be able to wear medical bracelet
