Question, what makes a good bourbon because I am starting to want to drink bourbon I’m right now in the whiskey area. I wanna know what is a good starter bourbon for a new bourbon drinker.

Thanks for stopping by Bootleggers in Headland, AL! My husband is a huge fan and loves your content and was so excited when he got to meet you!
"I don't like it worse". Put that on a shirt!
the bootlegger dude was a cool dude
Woohoo! Always a good day when there's a Brewzle Hunt!!
From Bham TJ, and we absolutely love Dread River! Hope you love it. If you are ever in town stop by there you will not be disappointed. Just a cool experience and they do it right!

i second that dread river is awesome
I work at Nelson’s in Nashville and got excited to see our Cognac Cask on this video! It is my personal favorite cask finish we do!
Alabama is full of weird stuff like that museum. The Tin Man on bird's farm or the Episcopal church with some manikins near Demopolis is another fun stop
I live and work right by Black Patch. It's a terrific smooth chewing caramel flavor but I suspect you would hate on it because he starts in big barrels and after 2 years ports it to small barrels. It's very delightful and priced in a way that it can be your daily driver without totally breaking the bank. I have family members up in MN that love it so much I have to bring cases back with me though. It's definitely worth trying. Heck, go visit him and chat with him. Great dude.
I ran into you at Heaven Hill this past week and was shocked. Totally caught me off guard. I was visiting some family while on leave, and my pops took me to some distilleries. It's so cool that I got to meet you and grab a pic!
That Dread River Single Barrel you picked up is a good one. I have one and really enjoy it. You should go up and let Josh their distiller give you a tour and discuss their products…would be some great content as they are doing some creative things for a small distiller.
Great review, looking forward to your many hunts coming up. I learn so much from them!
Get on 84 and head to Jakin,Ga from Dothan. There’s a hidden gem at the BP station after you cross the river. Jakin West Liquors. Doesn’t look like much but usually has some hard to find at a decent price. If now one is there have to go to gas station to get in.
So happy for your hunts again. I’d watch one every day
I live in Huntsville but recently visited San Diego and discovered “The Whiskey House” in the downtown area. They hold the Guinness Record for the most whiskeys, 4500!!! The flights are crazy! I had the San Diego Flight. Great place to visit👍👍

Super cool place, but there are better whiskey bars in the area incase you’re still out here i recommend checking aero club out for the best prices (also a barcade) and seven grand in north park. Seven grand is a bit pricey, but great picks.

I'm in dekalb County. I found a honey hole but it is in Rome GA. It's called Rome liquor and tobacco. They have a jack Daniel's rye store pick 133.2 proof in & usually always have eagle rare and BT for good prices. I'm going to catch a high west tasting today as well also on sale for 29.99

@@Hardstylers4Life661Aero Club isn’t like it used to be. It’s gotten way more expensive and their selection seems to have gotten worse. The gems around town have gotten harder and harder to find. 7Grand Happy Hour Old Fashioneds are still pretty killer for the price though, but then that leads me to overpaying for pours 😂
@Hardstylers4Life661

@@iggy3836 yeah ive gotten got like that 😭 happy hour old fashioned are too good at seven grand. Leads into a bar pick four roses and that leads to another… lol luckily my bar at home is pretty stocked up now so i dont have to drag myself out for a good pour😂
You need to do a Woodinville pick and do a hunt in Washington state home of the country's highest liquor tax. Woodinville single barrels from the distillery are fantastic, and there are tons of small distillers here.

I'm across the river in OR. Once hunting in Vancouver, this store owner said he would waive the liquor tax for me. I asked how and he basically said he does some under the table/off the books sales. Dude was sketchyyyyy
Good local store I visit is Terry's in Leeds. Always find something interesting in there. Bought a Weller Antique 107 and ER 10yr right at MSRP from there not long ago.
Enjoy watching your videos as I bake bread in the bakery (grain, water & yeast - pretty similar stuff.) If you come hunting in Colorado make sure to check out Branch & Barrel - small gem that distills and bottles on site, uses local grains and has a lot of really interesting bourbons and whiskeys. There are other great craft distilleries here like Laws, Leopold Bros, and Boulder Spirits (more malt forward so maybe not your jam) that you have probably been recommended. Would love to see a Denver video. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us, its fun to tag along while working. Cheers!
That Blackberry Starlight is a good pour for being flavored. More bourbon forward than any others out there.
I love that drive thru museum. I go through it every time I head that way.
I love watching the bourbon hunting!
LETS GO!!! Hunting is in my heart ❤️
That Dread River Single barrel was delicious. They just released a Sherry finished Rye that is amazing as well.
I've been waiting for a new bourbon hunting video, super epic
I do inventory for lots of these stores around Alabama. The ones that have the weird stuff that you'll never see anywhere else are the ones attached to gas stations that look like they're falling apart. Lots of them have bottles under the counter of whiskeys I've never heard of for astronomical prices. Last one I remember was called Van Winkle I think. Very very old bottle.
Sippin on some Gentleman Jack n Watchin this. Lucky me i got a set up on this early with my drink.
Loving the channel, learning a bunch.
My lady bought me a bottle of the Black Patch to try and for a $50 bottle I keep coming back to it!
I heard mention of Florida. If passing through Gainesville stop at The Good Pour and try some store picks. Used to be Jigz liquor, he still owns it but dude can do some picks
This one was *Awesome!* Kickin’ off a Spectacular Trip :D Have Fun
Again man, much love from opelika, im glad the hometown boy is making waves
Judge Roy Bean is sourced and finished with pecan. The owner is out of Fairhope. Good stuff.
Love the videos, I scored my 1st Eagle Rare 10yr this morning.
Good shoutout on the Cooper's Craft. Great for the money! Just hope it stays that way.
Bottle Kill - definitely interested in a Woodford Double Oak pick, that's my favorite!
Oh my I'm front Dothan, However, I live in Georgia. I must stop at these spots. This was a great video.
Had the honey dew from Garrison’s at the New Orleans bourbon festival it’s pretty good! 🥃🤘🏼
I knew you were right down the road as soon as I started the video!
You need to check out Rock Town in Little Rock, AR. They are making their own distillate and aging it in AR. They do a mix of small and large barrels but you can get cask strength from large barrels
2 or 3 barrels sir! I’m all in for Brewzle Woodford Double Oaked pick!
@brewzle You missed out on that Black Patch. Thats my friends Uncle's Distillery and they are phenomenal.
I’m a big Garrison Bros fan. Love the big flavor. The honeydew is great.
Great video TJ. Jill with I don’t like it worse is awesome.
@Brewzle The dread river you picked up is great!! Actually owned by the main orthopedic doctor at Andrew's sports medicine in St. Vincent's. If you're in Birmingham anytime hit me up, their facility is nice. I did a tour for my birthday. They also have a master series bourbon that is an excellent pour, but it's pricey.
Yo I love watching you and yours Bourbon Hunt TJ. Be really cool to see y'all Bourbon Hunt in my neck of the woods in Brunswick,GA. We got a Richland rum distillery downtown as well as the silver bluff brewery right across the street from it as well as the best BBQ place in Ga over on St. Simons Island. And apparently we're the land of Weller Special reserve(been seeing that on the shelves here in town all over.) Hope you find your way over here ,can more than recommend a few liquor stores here in town 🤠. Love the content man
Great show keep this format
Absolutely amazing, I so enjoy watching, every video I see is something new, just wondering have you already reviewed brown butter bourbon by Jon Taffer unfortunately it's only available in select parts of the USA.
Gotta start sending bottles to Will! Need to build that collection
Have the honeydew Garrison Brothers. Great bottle. I think it's worth it. The honey finish is very nice.
I definitely need a Woodford double oaked from you guys
Black patch is amazing I’m from Madison Alabama and it’s very good they have a distillery here with a beautiful tour
I really like the Dread River 🥃
As an Alabama native, it’s rough out here trying to get a good deal on liquor.
Just started getting into drinking bourbon/whiskey and my first bottle I bought to drink is Dough ball cookie dough( would like to ease into it ) but I think I’m going to get Four roses single barrel next.
I'm not a single malt guy either. But our (i'm from virginia) courage and conviction seems to be getting a lot of attention
You need to do a hunt in Lexington, KY! If the hunts don’t work out then there are plenty of distilleries close by to occupy your time
Ill be interested to hear your thoughts on the Dread River I picked one up here in Huntsville a month or so ago and tried it like 3 times and each time it was bad.
You need to try the Garrison Brothers Ladybird. It’s their honey dew at 115 proof and finished in cognac casks.
The Dread River Cask Strength we got about a year ago tasted like grass and markers. Unfortunately, it didn't even taste good as a mixer. Maybe this is a better batch?
I like Dread River (their bar/restaurant is a neat place to visit when in B'ham) but it's not a must-have.
You’re coming to Florida???? We welcome Brewzle!
Sadly my 1st Bulliet 12 Year Rye was demolished over 2 weeks. I should have paced it better, but my God, it was such a Phenomenal Bottle!!
Went to a tasting with the head distiller who makes Roseville union at Lux Rowe. I have the 6 year, that 7 is amazing. Great grab!!
Own distillate focused is beyond inane. Most people should source. Also, wellers SR isn’t high end.
Blackpatch is pretty decent. Madison also has a rum distillery that is out of this world. When are you making a Madison/Huntsville hunt?
Come on down to Sarasota Fl. I’ve got a few spots here!
If you are coming to Central Florida.. try Gaspars in Temple Terrace Florida . Would love to meet you there
That Rebel Rye is pretty solid.
Dredd River is the worst whiskey I've ever had. All of my whiskey buddies agree.
We'd love to have you visit Colorado. We have the biggest liquor store in the country and we love our whiskey
Do a spirits club. Either have them pay for a sample out of each bottle or do a monthly event and charge for it. That would be cool, so a bourbon dinner with all of these and pair with food. $150 a person 25 tops per dinner
Dread River is great, the owner is an incredible person
If y’all come back through Dothan I recommend West Side Spirits, smaller store with pretty good selection, and decent pricing

would LOVE a Woodford Double Oak'd pick!!!
Just saw this after working and I just bought a store pick and Yellowstone Select.
Back seat did not look happy!😅
On the road to a million subs, and the videos are already 3mil sub quality
Thank you for the video
GB honey dew is really good if you see it under 70 which you can sometimes
Coopers craft barrel reserve is a sleeper so good
Ok I have a question for yall? My GO to is Weller 107 and I love the Weller 12yr. With that said I just bought a Weller collection consisting of a Weller full proof Weller 12yr Weller 107 1.75 Weller C.Y.P.B. An E.H.Taylor small batch My Question is this dose anyone else think that the C.Y.P.B is sub par I get a good front and a almost rotten egg middle. And then the back end dosnt really matter lol. Like I said I realy enjoy and prefer Most Weller but for the the price that C.Y.P.B. was in my opinion horrible.
"going to have to take the budge down" he funny saying he got a budget.

I do have a budget, I don't often remember it when I find things I want.
Would love a Woodford DO pick. WDO is my daily driver for most occasions.
will rocking what seems to be a seiko alpinist. good taste.
Someone gave me those rolling glasses and now I use them every day
Just was able to get two bottles of Blantons. In two days in a Idaho liquor store crazy (one for me one for my dad) never have been able to find anything allocated ever so this was crazy
I own a bottle which I assume is a "dusty" ... its Echo Spring. There's a long story around it but the short version is that my brother in law and I found it and several dozen other bottles hidden behind a nailed shut door in the basement of a house he and my sister had just bought. The label says it is 86 proof and 6 years old. The bottom of the bottle has 60 56 embossed on it, underneath which is a D-9. I've heard that the numbers on the bottom can give a clue as to how old the bottle actually is? Any suggestions?
woodford double oaked is avail day in / out at costco in CA for $39 a bottle.
Woodford Double Oaked pick would be based on price for me. At $70 or below, I might buy 2. At $90, I dont think I would pull the trigger.
Don't know about the honey dew. The garrison brothers limousin oak and garrison brothers cowboy 140.9 proof are AWESOME
I like watching these whiskey hunting videos. Love seeing people lose their minds when they find a bottle 😅. Had to stop drinking. Fatty liver and shit but nice to see everyone else get buzzed. BTW, allocated bottles are the most successful marketing ploy in the history of humanity 😅
All I really want is some weller antique 107 but I can’t find it anywhere for $100 or under. Basically everywhere local to me has it for $350.
lol hunting in Alabama is ROUGH, having lived there for 5 years I know the pain. cheers dude
Check out Fillibuster Distillery in Woodstock VA! They distill their own whiskey and have been around for a bit longer, so their aging is the real deal

And then travel down the road to silverback
Best recent “dusty” I got recently was a 2022-03 Bookers for 99 in Cape May NJ
I would package at 300ml make the price point more manageble and increase bottle volume of barrel. I wish the industry would do this more aften id love to have more variety on my shelf at home without breaking the bank for each high profile bottle.
That Elvis - Midnight Snack is interesting but way too sweet.
Judge Roy Bean Jubilee Release #2, 3, & 4 are absolutely amazing. Batch #5 went south and was disgusting.
