Smart TVs have included cameras and microphones for tvs where those aren't features for years. The NSA also knows exactly how to take advantage of it. Not that they aren't also listening and recording so you can be targeted for advertising. I know someone who got themselves in trouble and was absolutely shocked by what came up in discovery. Mind you this was an innocent person who didn't go to prison or even end up going to trial. Everything in his house hooked to the internet was used to gather evidence. Calling it gathering evidence though is wrong. It was just data until someone suspected him of something he didn't do then it all became available to use against him. Though honestly it was the spying that saved him. The funny thing is all the spying can interfere with other spying really easy. They don't get to test it all that well for errors caused by multiple spying going on. So people's phones and stuff do act weird and the old saw that oh my phone is acting weird it must be tapped is very true sometimes.

This one is just for the top. The bed it self will need at least another 2 to 3 services and at least one subscription. lol
Doesn't have to feel cold. The foam absorbs the heat, and the tubing will carry it away whether it's touching you or not. You're laying there a long time. You can put it as far back as you want, or even run it through the mattress. It'll still work with the right flow. Similar systems are sold pre-built. I'll be getting or making one when I pick up a new mattress soon. Simple sensors in the topper are enough to have a machine keep the bed at a desired temperature. Quite a bit of this stuff is just available at aquarium shops; sensors and all.
When I was about 16, which is many years ago, I made my own refrigerated bed with the stuff from a refrigerator where I had flattened the plate that are in many little older refrigerators and just put it under a thin sheet of isolation in the bed. Me and my back had never been that cool during the summer when it was scorching hot in the room. A year later I made my worn AC for the room from scratch and It had way more power than I needed since it became even too cold in the room but worked really well. And it was no doubt the first that used R290 as the refrigerator gas (really LPG) since that was not really use back than commercially but is today.
I have an eight sleep bed. It was awesome. Until literally last night. Vinyl tore a tiny seam, woke up in a soaked bed. Warranty up last year, so they told me this morning “too bad so sad.” 3 grand for a bed system that is now useless after just a little over two years. Fuck 8 sleep.

In the future, when cutting foam, use an electric filet/carving knife. I used to build foam headliners and thats what we used. It's like cutting butter.
Just for insights regarding the "dirt": That yellow-ish stuff between the layers of the DIY topper is probably not dirt. My father is a craftsman and he uses industrial glue (the strong smelling one lol) to glue different kind of textiles, but majorly furniture grade foams, together. That glue is somewhat yellow-green and turns darker yellow when drying, what makes it look like dirt/stain/whatever. Usually though, this gets hidden by leather and/or other materials and therefor doesn't matter in most cases. Also the smell disappears completely when exposed to air for a longer period of time which makes it even more seem like dirt.

Use the foam that's in patio furniture. That stuff is the most open open-cell foam there is. I guess that's so it can dry off after it rains, before mold sets in. Then just throw box fans under the bed (not directly on the floor), blowing upwards. The air goes right through.
I made this 15 years ago and it is still working today. 1st use 5/16 silicone tubing, I did not cut the mattress pad, I sewed it to a water bed sheet in a loop system using only 4 separate lines on a water header. I use an aquarium pump reduced down to fit the lines. 1st design I used a heater core from a car and a fan (on top above water line) to cool the water all in a bucket from lowes. I would freeze a few water bottles and drop them in the bucket of water at night. After a year, I upgraded to a small soda chiller from target/walmart (on sell for $18, it is a small refrigerator that cools a 6 pack). Store a small tank inside of little cooler, and it water gets really really cold, Drill 2 holes on the cooler 1 return and 1 outlet, hook up aquarium pump to outlet side going to manifold, each line is adjusted to make sure you have enough water pressure on your return line back to cooler. The water barely moves, by the time it returns to the cooler it is warm but mixes with the freezing water. Complete system is a little bigger than a shoe box, fits under bed and only have 2 main lines attached to water header that you can see. Water header and all lines sewn into sheet covered up. Only problem, it sweats and your sheet gets wet/ damp. I use it as a cooling sheet/blanket and the temp gets way to cold so you have to slow the water pressure down to where it barely moves or you will freeze. Gets down to like 40 f or 4C. I keep it around 58f or 14c. Total cost was like $40 years ago. A tip, Use waterproof mattress cover to protect your mattress so it will not mildew.
Subscription monthly for my bed? $25 a month is crazy for an app on my bed. Also, it is kind of creepy to have all the information from my sleep habits stored on some database. I'm sure with the sensors their able to tell everything that happens in the bed. More importantly, why do I need a subscription for my bed? I was actually going to purchase one of these until it said the app was mandatory for the first year. They need to change that. I'm sure there's a lot of people like myself who would benefit from a product like this, were ready to purchase, and stopped because of the monthly fee and privacy concerns.

Just saying, you should do a video on that Quick 220 tool. They are great for beginning EV setups, for like $20 you can get the 220v end for a Tesla mobile connector, and this is an easy way to approximately double your charging speed for only about $120 in total. I used it for 2 years and loved it.

TEC modules can be powered to specific custom power draw with the right control interface. Their efficiency is dictated very significantly by the delta T between hot and cold side, so running multiple TECs under their maximum power limits is much more efficient than running a single unit at max. This is why some applications use TECs to good effect--they have sufficiently sophisticated control loops to ensure it is not left to run at maximum all the time.
I'm glad you took the time to cover the inefficiency of Peltiers in all applications aside from direct conduction to the skin. This has legitimised by Environment suit powered by Peltiers for Project: MJOLNIR!
