For the record: yes, Tikki and Plagg know. They had to detransform near each other, but neither of them looked because of the “can’t tell each other” rule. But at another point, they actually had to switch holders for an episode due to Shenanigans, so Adrien acted as Ladybug and Marinette as Chat Noir.

I had a different interpretation of the episode when I first saw it. It’s not that the ship can’t happen. It’s that the ship can’t happen with Adrian‘s father still in the picture, because of his willingness to abuse his son for personal gain. So the ship can only happen at the end of the series or if they decide to change the main big bad to someone else and kill Adrian‘s father.

For clarification: he doesn't normally walk like that. He sort of runs like a cat sometimes when he finds over buildings or up the Eiffel Tower, sometimes meows, and has even purred one time, but he doesn't normally walk like a cat. I think the reason why he was walking like that was because it's canon that he's been stuck in his akumatized form for months, alone, and has probably gone insane with guilt, sadness, anger, and loneliness. I think having him walk like a cat was their way of showing that he's sort of gone feral.

We have seen him run in that way before in Oblivio. I think he does it occasionally, but not in a creepy way.

For reference, Chat Blanc really is more OP than most akumatized villains. Arguably the most powerful and dangerous one.

Cat Noir is already dangerous on his own. If he was a villain, like this episode shows (And he's still somewhat pulling punches in this episode), the universe wouldn't exist for more than two seconds. So it makes sense that an akumitized Cat Noir is the worst thing ever. The kwami of destruction is not something to be kid around about, that's for sure.

@@MathewMcKenna yeah, sometimes its hard to keep track of who-knows-what. after 5 seasons its probably easier to make one of those conspiracy wall-thingies with all the characters and pins with string connecting them, detailing their relationships.

Fun fact: Cat Blanc was actually a VERY popular headcanon/theory on Cat Noir's akumatized form, pretty sure it's been theorized for years before it eventually happen in the actual canon. Dang this episode broke me, Bryce's delivery (Adrien/Cat Noir's Eng VA) absolutely devoured the scene

The headcanon came from a deliberately-on-purpose leak by Astruc.

18:20 Cat Noir's miraculous has the power of destruction (Lady Bug's has creation). It's usually balanced by the fact that he has to recharge every time the power is used, but it seems like with the powers of the Akuma boosting him, that's not an issue anymore.

The interesting thing is that in the latest episode, they seemed to grow up and are no longer in need to detransform after using their powers, so he has an unlimited power of destruction now, and Marinette has an infinite power of creation

At the end Marinatte didn't know Adrian is Cat Noir, so she couldn't guess that him knowing Marinatte is Lady Bug is enough for Cat Noir to know Marinatte is Lady Bug. So that's why the other girl tried to push the blame to Adrian, so Marinatte couldn't know that Adrian is Cat Noir. Cause if she knows it world be doomed like this episode.

Fun fact: Chat Blanc was originally a fandom idea since S1. He's usually designed with of course his white suit, but with his blonde hair and green, yellow, or pink eyes. There are other designs too. Why he was a favorite headcanon was because the moment he becomes akumatized, he becomes ruthless and lost all morale, even so far as willing to unalive Ladybug for not loving him back (most common reason why he becomes akumatized). He was basically an overpowered yandere, and it was so cool

When I saw the thumbnail I honestly thought "Whelp. Matt picked a... nice.... spot to jump into with 0 context" Maybe consider the movie next? It's a full story, in an alternate universe same as this one, but the story unravels differently (and more shortly, obviously) and it's pretty alright, I'll say Update: So Matthew said in a recent video that he's already seen the movie, so you can go request something else, dear reader

@@once6824 The S5 episode was just made as a response from the creators as they realized the backlash of her stalking tendencies in earlier episodes. They had never planned for the episode otherwise, and had normalized it until they realized it harmed the show's reputation. I suggest you search the definition of stalking because although she didn't steal anything she still crossed into private property without permission through stealthy pursuit. She essentially secretly spied on him for countless episodes with obsessive intentions, and if you swapped the gender roles maybe then you would see how concerning her actions are. The worst part is probably that this is a kids show, so normalizing this behaviour to young audiences would make them assume being stalked as flattery, and influence them to show affection through similar means to those they like.

it's funny that he thought "i cant watch that one because it's a part 2 so i won't be able to appreciate it as much, so i'll just watch a standalone episode" when this episode has so much overarching plot that it probably wouldnt have mattered either way because he still has no context to majority of whats going on

If you decide to watch the show from the very beginning, you need to start with season 1 ep 25-26, I know it’s weird to start at the end of season 1 but that technically the episode where we meet everyone and you understand the plot better

He won't like the series as much, if he starts with the end of season 1, instead of Stormy Weather. Ok, he already started with Cat (Chat) Blanc, so the milk's maybe already spilled. But most of the people (here on KZread), starting with the Punch Line, instead of building up to it, seemed not to have appreciated as much, what the series was about.

This show is my guilty pleasure. I will hate on it but I still watch every new episode and enjoy it😭

To cheer you up there is some character developement in 4th and 5th season. Characters motivations make little sense considering plot of this episode but at least the ending is satisfying

From my memory, Marinette has tried to drop of presents for Adrien at the mailbox but his father’s assistant tends to go through his mail and vet it so leaving it at the door wouldn’t work

she wasn't looking at his ass!! she looked at his staff, that's hooked on his belt, because it was one of the object most likely for the akuma to be in great vid lol

I know there are a number of people who aren't big fans of the show, but to throw my own opinion into the ring, I think it's pretty good overall. It's not perfect, a bit long-winded and a little inconsistent, but overall I think it's a very fun time While S1 - S3 are largely episodic, I do think this episode and some others are probably best watched after becoming familiar with the show's formula, even if not literally everything before it. That said, S4 and S5 are when things start getting particularly good, and those are pretty much fully serialized. Even in episodes where not much happens, having prior knowledge of the show would help comprehension I don't think it would necessarily be a good idea to react to random episodes, but I guess if they're from the first three seasons, that might be okay. I actually think Ephemeral (an episode from S4) handles this "what if" concept much better, so I'm surprised to see Cat Blanc so highly rated - I get it from the angle of being a main character akumatized, but still In any case, the show has its flaws and weirder aspects, but it's a very fun show in my opinion. Slice of life fused with superhero and magical girl elements, with romantic drama and secret identity shenanigans galore lol

For me, I liked the flow of Ephemeral more, particularly since it tackled the topic of Marinette reconciling her image of Adrien with that of Cat Noir. It took time, but she does still come around to it, and realizes they're two sides of one person I still like Cat Blanc a lot, especially by virtue of him being akumatized while transformed. I mainly didn't enjoy the events leading up to it, but the actual future battle was very good, and the back-and-forth had a satisfying flow go it as stuff became clear

I believe when Ladybug was telling Bunnix (The rabbit) how she thought Cat Noir figured out her identity, she was rationalizing how she thought it happened because she doesn't know Cat Noir's identity. She doesn't know Adrien is Cat Noir.

This whole episode is a "what if" episode. It's supposed to to show why they can't now each other's identity

Btw, Adrien didn't tell other people about Marinette's identity. Marinette still doesn't know Adrien is Cat Noir, so time travel lady covered it up. So, instead of Marinette thinking Cat Noir knows her identity, because he's Adrien, and saw her in his room. Now, she thinks Adrien told people, and somehow it spread to Cat Noir's ears too.

For other Miraculous episodes for this channel, I'd recommend "Oblivio", "Animaestro", and the special "Miraculous World: New York - United Heroez". Those are what come to mind that have the right mix of good/absurdity, especially to those unfamiliar with the rest of the show (though they also have elements that are even more absurd if you're familiar with it).

I looked on IMDB, and apparently there's a new highest-rated episode: Emotion. I think that would be HILARIOUS for him to react to without the context of the rest of the show.

There is a movie coming out on july 5 in france and in selected theatres . For others it will be released in netflix on july 28. Its called Ladybug and Cat Noir: The Movie. The movie is different from the show and is set in an alternate universe but the characters and concept is almost the same. The movie is directed by the producer of the series and it is his vision of the miraculous universe. Also it's a musical. Give it a go when you can.

(Am I remembering this right that there was some random episode somewhere in there that was a musical? I know that they made that awful Christmas special as a musical. I'm trying to remember what the random episode was...)

@@MuljoStpho Oh, that one was sickly. I know Brice Papenbrook tried his best to sing, but it was the worst singing I have ever heard. They should have gotten a professional singer to dub over him.

I forgot how weird and also emotional this episode was😂 As someone who just watched the s5 finale.. it gets weirder but more emotional and a bit darker

15:38 because he's the villain and needs negative emotions to make people villains, that's what akumatized means, akuma is a butterfly that is made black by the villain Gabriel or Hawk Moth and is then purified later by Ladybug

I still don't understand how this show became so popular in the US, you see no one in France half as invested in the show as them and I find that hilarious

Just to advise, miraculous ladybug is not like other shows, this is a kids show broadcasted to over 120 countries and because of this, there are a lot of restrictions on the show, meaning it’s very difficult to write, but regardless, the creator and his team have explained that they can’t please everyone, but if your having fun watching the show, then their doing their job right as they simply try to make it fun for all ages. Marinette’s behavior actually correlates to Adrien when he is cat noir, neither of them know how to control their romantic emotions let alone know how to deal with it, which is typical teenager controlled by hormones. Their behavior is touched on several times. We do recommend you watch the series in order, it’s a fun ride.

gotta add it is becomming less and less of a "kids show" (probably because most of the audience are people that used to watch as kids 7 years ago) but yes this is so true. and it is deffinatly better to watch the series in order cause this shit makes much more sense

@@bichocobee3222 the reason its becoming a little more mature is because the studio had decided to allow Thomas and his team to make the show a little more serious now that the countries know the kids will age along with the show, this is very good because they said they have a ton of ideas for future episodes but couldn't include them since restrictions prevented them. For ex: spoilers below When they wrote Cat Blanc, they were going to make Paris more apocalyptical looking, but the studio didnt allow it because countries felt it would upset the younger audiences. Later they finally got a chance to use their original idea in "Representation"

As a miraculous fan, I think that its really insightful to see your interpretations on the episodes. It's made me realise some things that I never thought about, which also made me laugh because it put me in a new perspective! Thanks for making this video!!

There are people who hate that episode I think it’s very fun and whimsical and being insane is part of the charm I respect the miraculous writers they did whatever they wanted and they were as insane and ambitious and unique as possible without any restrictions they had complete creative freedom within their budget and they didn’t care what anyone thought and they had fun with it

You missed one small detail - Adrian is Cat Noir. The "bunny girl" tries to make an excuse how Cat Noir found who Ladybug is because Ladybug mustn't know that Cat Noir and Adrian are the same person. :) So Adrian didn't tell anybody about Ladybug's identity.

To give Matthew context: the bunny superhero is the future version of the girl in the beginning, and the cursed butterfly(akuma) allows the villain to give the people who are effected superpowers, to work for him the villain, the villain sends these akumas to people with intense negative em😊

Miraculous Ladybug is a weird show. It's a train wreck, definetly. But the concept and the beginning was good, people kinda stuck around i guess? It's in a sorta, hit or miss scenario, where like, it introduces other cool story beats and concepts but my god is the writing absolutely dreadful. It's like fighting an uphill battle but you only actually get somehow up once or so per season or something

You were guessing pretty much everything spot on 😂 I knew Gabe was a terrible father but when you said it out loud like that I realized…oh shit yeah he’s ACTUALLY awful lol The only things to know: Bunnix is from the future, not another dimension. And everyone with powers has a miraculous (pretty much). A miraculous is a jewel/trinket that contains a Kwamii. The evil dad abuses his for evil, turns other people evil on purpose, and makes them bait out Ladybug and Cat Noir so he can get their miraculous. He wants to make a wish to make his wife alive again. Also the love square. If you ever watch this show be prepared to hate it along with the rest of us lol good thing it finally finished its main story today so you can binge it tho! It’s a crazy ride that makes no sense but we're here for it.

i'm honestly not surprised that this is the highest rated ep, i've seen it like 5 times and it still gets me 😅😭

I remember watching this episode like about 10 times 3 years ago, learning all the dialogue out by heart and everything lol. It's definitely a favorite and the shock factor is through the roof even for non-fans.

It's canon, at least for Felix. We're not entirely sure about Adrien but it's strongly implied by Felix's story, as well as Thomas Astruc (the show's creator) saying there are three human sentimonsters.

The reason why this episode is so emotional and I 100% agree. It's honestly kind of surprising that I didn't know that this was the number one ep, but it's emotional because the fact that if 1 of them is acumitized, it's all over.

Also the 'Skater girl' is Alyx and she is Bunnyx. They are the same person and her power is time travel. So the hero version of her is an older version as well. Its explained propperly in season 4/5. Hope you watch all the episodes 😂 it will help with a lot of details. (Im a huge fan of the series if you have any questions)😊 😊

3:58 if you like Juleka, then you MUST like Alix (the one on the roller skates too after you watch that one episode where she finds Mari's stalking weird. Cause Juleka is my 2nd fav.

So gabriele’s wife (adrien’s mother) ended up in a coma (or she’s dead af who knows) because she used a broken miraculous, so now Gabriele is trying to get ladybug’s and cat noir’s miraculous because they are the two most powerful and they’re supposed to grant ultimate power to those who use both at the same time (so I’m guessing the idea is he’s able to somehow realive his wife). For context LMAO.

Just to be clear she wasn't looking at his ass🤣😭😭😭😭 she was looking at his weapon wich he carries on his back.

So from what I have heard, they can not be together, bc she loves adrien, but he loves ladybug, so they just always love the other version. Also Adrien did not tell anyone, they jut said he MUST have told someone , until cat noir knew, but cat noir knew, because he IS Adrien, so Adrien did not tell anyone.

I’m crying 😭😭😭 watching someone who has no idea what’s going on, watching a most watched episode has me on the FLOOR

Chat Noir/ Adrien didn't tell anyone. Ladybug was trying to find some logic on how Chat Noir learned her name, not knowing that Adrien is Chat Noir.

It's the emotional and the highest rated episode because it's probably one of the few episodes that doesn't actually melt your brain cells and make you want to choke out almost evryone and give marinette a court restraining order

He shouldve watched the origin episodes first

to answer your question Mathew, yes there is a movie! multiple in fact! there are 2 specials, Miraculous: New York and Miraculous: Shanghai, (with more on the way.) and there are two movies planed. one that comes out this month (depending on where you live) and another that comes out in 2026!

Ladybug has a power called lucky charm and it gives her random objects she uses to defeat the akumatised villains. Gabriel (Adrien's father) never cared about his son, before Adrien got his miraculous he was homeschooled by his father and he never had friends until after he got the black cat miraculous. This show can get confusing and intense in some episodes. Marinette gained her crush on Adrien by him giving Marinette his umbrella. That bunny hero is the future version of the girl (Alix) who was skating around.

I like how the fans say that Gabe doesn’t care about Adrien based on all his actions, despite Astruc desperately trying to make him sympathetic. Then you watch one episode and can already tell Gabe doesn’t give a 🤬 about his own son
