Nicholas has to be my favorite anime and reactor in general, not for the quirky omg reactions but for the respect he has during the movie/show for the animations and the voice actors and everything. It always makes it super comfortable and relaxing knowing Nicholas isn't faking his reactions but generally enjoys the stuff we ask him to watch. Thanks Nick for all the good videos so far, I'm excited to watch this one.

Bro, I'm two episodes away from that movie with my family! I've already watched all of season 4 right when it was most current. Rewatching with my family and kids, and they are enjoying it. We just finished the school festival last night, and after the next two episodes they'll be caught up with me. When All Might flexed for the final hit, every single person in the theater lost their fucking minds lmao.

The movies are canon in the sense of: they will get referenced by the author but they won't effect the main story in any way that's actually necessary to watch them

Except for the 2nd movie, where in the climax something Deus Ex Machina happened and I swear it's just there for fanservice, even ss6 retcons this action by saying it is not even possible. Guess Horikoshi didn't take that into account.

The only thing is you should watch the movie after watching everything that was released before in the main story, or else they may refer to the many story details that you might not have gotten to yet and can sometimes be a solid spoiler

Nick, all MHA movies are canon but they act like non-canon bez they are mostly irrelevant to the story.(we will see somethings from this movie in future season) and in manga there is a panel showing movies characters. So ,yes they are canon. And this movie takes place after practical exam in summer vacation.

​@@sharktiger4919except they didnt retcon it? What are you talking about? Spoilers If you mean ofa being transferred to bakugo, they never said he couldn't transfer it to someone with a quirk. Its simply that he couldnt permanantly do it and make them the next holder because if it is transferred to someone with a quirk and they keep it, they die much faster than they normally would. But the holders made sure that didnt happen in the second movie because, as seasons 5 and 6 show, the previous holders can *choose* who to be with. They simply gave bakugo a temporary bit of one for all's power.

I actually hate the plot of all the mha movies, because they are often all over the place with the narrative and sometimes make no logical sense. But the animation... just masterpiece.

@@sharktiger4919 it's completely plausible, not even a retcon. Even way back in ss2 when the predecessors snapped Deku back to his sense, it showed that OFA has its own conciousness. When Nine tried to take OFA they just said nope like that so why is temporary lending OFA a Deus Ex Machina when it's been shown multiple times. OFA is just a mysterious quirk that's all, even the users had to put together the pieces later on to fully understand it.

This is one of my favourite animated films in general 🥰 I think it has a great way to tell as much for the viewer they have to know and it has my favourite All Might/Deku scene since the first seasons imo

Season 4 was definitely the best since they caught up with the manga at that point and it trashed the pacing. If they tried less to ride the hype and prioritized delivering on the story it’d still be great.

Idk if you'll see this but here goes. This is how the movies work in Canon (they are canon even Horikoshi says so) Basically the movies take events that were mentioned but not completely covered in the manga. Like for this movie for example. In the manga they reference the island and the event happening there but they didn't go into detail about the event itself. The movies take moments like these in the manga and provide those details and context to the references that are mentioned in the manga. Specifically the 2nd movie has a VERY big plot point that comes back up later in the manga at a VERY big moment. Timeline wise these movies (in timeline with the anime work like this.) Anime Seasons 1 & 2. 1st movie. Anime Seasons 3, 4, & most of 5. 2nd movie takes place at the same time as the last arc in Season 5 (this is the reason why we don't see any heroes during this arc.) The 3rd movie technically take place before before events of Season 6. So you can either watch the 3rd movie after you finish Season 5 or you can watch the 2nd movie then the 3rd then start Season 6. Either way is fine. I know this is long but even if Nick doesn't see it hopefully this will clear up confusion for anyone that does.

The top comments, I didn’t see them mention this in great detail, but… This movie takes place after the halfway point of season 3 of the anime during summer break before returning to classes. Movie 2 more less takes place after season 4. Movie 3 takes place after the halfway point of season 5. The movies “are canon” so if you want to want to avoid spoilers and understand context in the movies best, keep this kinda timeline in mind. Hope this helps. I got to meet some of the English dub voice actors at Anime Las Vegas this past weekend. The lady that voices Ochako was there, as well as the actors that voice Aizawa and 2 other characters you haven't seen yet. If you've watched Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen, I also met the vice actors for Zenitsu, Rengoku, and Geto. If you thought this movie was a 9, the next movie, you're gonna give a 100 out of 10. 💯

Eyyy the 2nd movie of my hero is my personal favorite. Can't wait for u to watch that one.

Just to explain, this movie takes place during their summer vacations, which is right after the end of season 2. As the following movies all happen as a parallel (pretty common for anime movies), this “Two Heroes” is actually the only movie which could be completely included in the original timeline, however it was created as a side story and it doesn’t directly affects the main plot (there are a few mentions and cameos in future scenes though).

Fun fact, marvel and mha have done crossovers in the marvel comics before

The second movie, Heroes Rising, made me feel so much emotion, incomparable to anything else I’ve watched, during the final battle. It may not be the best film but it’s my favourite film of all time just because of that. Can’t wait to see you react to it!

Even though this movie takes place between the end of season 2 and the begining of season 3, I think this movie is meant to be watched after you watch a bit of season 3, heck theres a filler episode that tells you when you can watch it, that aside I have a lot fond memories with this movie, this was me and my moms first anime movie that we went to see in theaters it was such great moment

Melissa is in the final arc of the manga. This shit is 100% canon and the villian is a huge teaser for future season story beats

In case no one mentioned it, there is a Marvel and My Hero crossover, or at least a cameo. It's in the manga series Deadpool Samurai, All Might pops up in it to help Deadpool with a battle. There's also a Marvel and Attack On Titan crossover that's an 8 page one shot called Attack on Avengers.

This movie takes place between seasons one and two. The second movie takes place at an unknown point around the middle of season 5. The third movie takes place right before the end of season 5 and the next movie looks like it takes place between season six and seven.
