@@mroctober3583 I haven't seen any content from this guy outside of this and the last destiny vid with him but it sure seems like he hasn't actually done barely any research into any of the things he claims he has(or just hasn't researched much into topics he has very strong conviction of) and then acts super smug and arrogant when literally anything comes up at all. Then though when challenged he realizes he doesn't know what he is talking about so he pivots off or tries to change what was actually said and then at the end pretends he is super good faith and there are just a couple of small differences in opinions and that he still has validity for believing in what he does (despite almost every claim he makes getting proven to be wrong/not true in full)

The best part of the conversation was when Paul would engage with Destiny’s questions regarding Finkelstein’s performance on Lex Fridman but once Paul would make an assertion that was either false or flawed Destiny would say something like “Okay, well I’ll show you evidence that disproves that” and instead of engaging with it Paul would then say “why do you even care what I think about Norm Finkelstein or how he performed?” He falls back on that pivot a few times lol. Maybe, Paul, if you think it’s weird to talk about this with Destiny-or that it’s pointless-maybe stop engaging with that topic and ask to move to something else??? Lol Nah. Paul is only interested in following an argument if he thinks he can get a “win” out of it. But once he recognizes he’s out of his depth when Destiny is about to show how erroneous his arguments are he just tries to argue how ridiculous the conversation was from the very beginning! Nice strategy!

I think this is the issue with people who say they are talking and arguing on behalf of the Palestinian people. It seems to be a group of people who all rely on the same thought processes and ways of going about a deep conversation. They tend to make an assertion on something, but when you go down line of questioning to either confirm the truth of the assertion or counter it with your own, they don't have anything to back it up besides cherry picked examples, arguments from emotion, or other informal fallacies. The goal seems to me is to make an assertion and hope that nobody disagrees or examines the claim past a surface level examination.

My favourite part was when Paul tried to compare Finkelstein's behaviour on a podcast he didn't watch by pointing out that Destiny had a quick quip against Milo during an unhinged 'debate'. The man is basically the 50+ version of the kid in first year Uni who was too dumb to participate in any interesting conversation and would try to derail every topic so that he didn't feel left out. Destiny has a problem with how a person, who was invited to a formal debate, conducted himself in said debate. His behaviour was, to summarise, childish and not up to the standard you'd expect from someone with his credentials. Paul, on the other hand, doesn't see a problem with this because he is biased towards Finkelstein. His favouritism in this conversation is exhausting, honestly. The whataboutisms too. This is my analyses on this based on 20 minutes. Let's see if it holds up to the end. EDIT So now he's going to watch the entire thing to see if it changes his mind which is good, but he's adamant what he did was acceptable as an "Agitator". The point he's failing to realise, though, is that it should be substantive agitation, which it wasn't. Paul is one of those guys that is "Stuck in his ways", evidenced by how he brings up being "old school" and citing his age as evidence of experience. Even going as far to try and make points with "I'm older than you" previously. I don't see him changing his mind, but who knows...

I have seen hundreds, if not thousands, of comments on the Norm/Destiny debate. I have not seen *ONE* person cite areas where Norm was correct and Destiny was wrong. They seem to determine who wins a debate by who has to resort to making fun of the other person's name. This is compelling logic, for them. It's a wild sort of cope.

I feel Destiny comes off a bit unhinged here. I totally understand him thinking "fk this, im standing my ground", but this was low hanging fruit with low reward and low stakes, so it just comes off as Destiny being a tad bit petty... even though he's not specifically being petty.

Its because he just genuinely cant come to terms with the fact that dumbass Norm literally views him as a joke, and treats him as a joke, compared to everyone else he interacts with. That dot just can’t connect in his head sadly.

I think destiny is 100% in the correct for what he is doing. Norm was clearly acting like a clown (even admits it in interviews after as shown) yet people still believe that norm crushed destiny. People will also claim to have watched the entire debate and then when pushed almost always end up resulting in "Oh I've seen some clips, or only some small portion" yet even when destiny asks for ANY example of this, they fail to provide. Then they still refuse to change their position. Sure it's "low hanging fruit" but with how many fruit there is, it needs to be challenged.

this feels like reaching for crumbs. would it have been better if destiny turned the other cheek? yeah and he prob knows that, but of all the places to allow these relapses, low stakes and low reward stuff like this is fine

The actual actual comment that ruined milos career was when Ben re-asked the question more succinctly. That is the clip everyone circulates. And I have found it funny that no one anywhere has ever attributed DP to this moment. If Paul could get past his "ego" enough to build this bridge more, he might have another chance at a Milo moment.

In the future, if Destiny finds himself against a Norm Finkelstein type again, he should start acknowledging the behavior as embarrassing and unserious. Just call out what's happening.
