The main big bad, who wasnt supposed to show up till the last book, shows up in the SECOND MOVIE

The Sea of Monsters is a basically Percy showing off powers he had no idea he even possessed. He also hijacked the quest from Clarisse (a daughter of Ares) because Grover is his best friend and he was having dreams that Grover was in danger. - He aquired the Golden Fleece because Thalia's tree was poisoned so the camp's defense was weakening every day. Luke/Kronos was the one who poisoned the tree so they could steal it and heal Kronos to take over Olympus - Tyson is a cyclops and was actually his friend from his new school. He had to be invited into the camp by Annabeth because he's a monster.

And the author thought the first movie was bad, I can't imagine his opinion on this. They tried to squeeze too much into one movie, the writing was bad, the acting was atrocious, AND the final fight is so anticlimactic, it's not even funny. And then they end it on a cliffhanger, like they really thought they'd make a third one after this. DO NOT let you deter this from the recent show, though. It's actually pretty good.

One of the worst things about this movie compared to the book was the Mist. In the book, the Mist is an ever-present veil that hides the mystical world from the normal world, and can't be condenced into a stupid spray. I HATE THIS!!!!!

this movie was atrocious and many people didn’t like it mainly because the author of PJ series had no part in this. the new show however is really good, and the author was a huge part of its creation. a lot of people love the show and it is really investing, definitely worth checking it out

I will say the films change a lot e.g. Kronos is meant to be the overarching final enemy of the series while Percy Thalia and a third character are part of the same overall plot.

As someone who didn’t read the books I loved the first movie the sequel however hated it💀. I can only imagine the anger I would’ve had if I read the books as well.

I love how they try to frame Posedion as a dead beat cause he didnt respond but like the guy still has certain jobs too, most of the gods are in charge of something they can be there ALL the time. Firgure your own shi out percy ur the main character🤣

if you haven't I recommend reading the book or listening to an audio version of it, or watch a youtube commentary on the differences between the book and the movie, because starting right off of the bat; that protection was always there, it didn't become set because of Thalia's death. (plus they're great books, so)

There's so many things wrong with this movie. There's actually a video that i believe is like over an hour about everything the movie got wrong as an adaptation. But the thing about Poseidon not talking to Percy is especially stupid because in the last movie, he told Percy that he would be there when he needed him only to disregard that for a stupid side plot about Percy being ignored that goes nowhere and is never explained. With the way the final fight goes, you'd believe that they actually planned to just can the series and call it a day, but then they throw in Thalia coming back to life implying they wanted to continue and I'm scared to think of how they would manage to butcher the last 3 books for the movies. Also, for those who don't know, Thalia's name is pronounced with the TH rather than how the movie pronounced it without the H

Kronos who was BIG problem for old gods was defeted by half-god with a sword in like 5min. As a bonus so many things which had no meaning or were not explained.

They knew they weren’t gonna get a third movie so they went an sloppily brought kronos into the ending

The mythology doesn't say why the Grees share one eye and in sime versions of the myth, they also share a tooth. It's funny because Polypheme, the cyclope is also the son of Poseidon

They had 5 million less than the original budget from the first movie. Also, funny how no one noticed that Annabeth was a brunette in the first movie and now she's a blonde. But yeah this movie for what it's worth it can be classified as a Greek gods movie but in no way is this a percy jackson movie.

I tried to just being neutral watching the 2nd movie but no, I can't. As the book reader, I hate it a lot 😭 You didn't read the book yet and you already dislike it, imagine us the book reader watching this movie. Imagine Riordan, the book author, watching this movie. I bet he wanna claw his eye out, I know I am. The first movie is not like in the book but I still quite like it and respect it, because the first movie is the reason I know Percy Jackson books. But this second movie, nope. I hate it. There are lots of wrong in it, even as a movie itself it's bad. As an adaptation, it's a chaos. I hope you'll watch and review the series by Disney because it's great, it's so good.

I enjoy some parts of the movies mainly the action scenes. But I felt like the Disney plus Series did a better job with the story and the plot. Yes some episodes were a bit of a slow burner but the last 4 episodes were my favourites.

They tease the Titan Lord's return but how how are we supposed to be afraid of him? "He was weakened and not recovered." "There's many Titans" Doesn't change that he's the strongest Titan by default and a demigod beat him single-handedly,and even Percy isn't nearly as powerful as any of the TWELVE Olympians. At least not yet,because he only months of practice and not years.

The movies were good in a standalone sense, but they changed so much stuff from the books, and they tried to smush the other 4 books in the series into the second movie... It was rushed and they tried to make up for their changes in the first movie, like Annabeth's hair color. She is blonde in the books, they changed it in the first movie and then tried to change it back in this movie.. it's sad because the books are legendary, but they did not do them justice, which is mainly why these movies didn't continue.. Alexandra Daddario looks good with blonde hair though ye?

I think the physical attributes wouldn’t have been that bad if it wasn’t for the complete mischaracterization of the trio, like they didn’t take the time to know who these characters really were

You should watch the show it’s actually pretty great and a MUCH better adaptation of the books. Both of these movies have basically nothing to do with the books since the plots for 1&2 are completely different from the movies. The main cast is like the only thing I like about these movies, logan lerman, alexandra daddario and brandon t. jackson are all great and play off each other well it’s the only thing that works in these movies.

I loved both movies when they came out obviously the movies aren’t good but they where always super fun and interesting and I also didn’t read the books so I never had the book complaint everyone else has

It’s crazy, I enjoyed the movies as someone who didn’t read the books while the readers hated them. But now with being an ATLA fan and hearing about the show, I understand the hate about adaptations. Y’all ever been on both sides of adaptations (fan side and newcomer side)?

I never watched this movie, precisely because I hated the first one, and what I saw through this reaction, made me want to die Like, what a horrible movie, in EVERY SINGLE aspect

The secong movie tried to use stuff from all the other books, took shit out of order, made a mess out of the story. First movie is ok, Second movie is 99% terrible, the 1% is them trying to fix annabeth hair and the missing characters (not that it worked but they tried). Its been a long time since i've watched it, its bad... About what happens or not, most of it was in the books, just not in the one its supposed to be this movie 😂.

@@litlizard6502 Really just making the episodes and fights longer. The fights didn’t bother me too much since this is a Percy without any experience but this will definitely not work in later seasons. Especially when they adapt The Last Olympian.
