We have all been there. I thought Kun and Renjun were the same person in 2018 for a WHOLE MONTH (they didn't give Kun a unit and most of his content was with Dreamies... also back then they didn't promote Renjun well eithe. Also that Donghyuk and Haechan were two different people. 😂

As an NCTzen we have all been through all the stress but you get used to it💀😭

It honestly wasn't and I joined last year. Just go by unit. Which I didn't but it is overall easier for people that have it easier with smaller groups. If you want to it just happens. I learned them in a week or so. Skz was much harder for me. Some members looked so much like each other T-T While NFT was easy peasy. True I cheated through SUPERM as I learned them quickly and loved the concept. But still it was fun.

Okay here a really simple way to understand nct units Just think of nct as vogue : Wayv = vogue china ( wayv is a unit of nct but their songs are in Chinese) Nct dream = teens vogue ( the members of nct dream debuted really young "14-17" ofc now they grew up ) Nct 127 = normal vogue ( just a normal kpop group ) Nct u = special vogue ( nct u is the only unit that change each comebacks, nct u members are decided each new comebacks w the members who are fittings the most the song ) And recently debuted dojaejung but you can considere this unit as featuring between 3 members who are (doo)young (jae)yun( jung)woo Hope that helped abit

Wow, that's so useful to know. I'm just amazed that you memerised all that😂, but great way to understand how they work, much appreciated as I'm new to them too. It's always a pain whdn I'm making instagram edits to know who's in the video I just made. Half the time I just list all the sub divisions if I can't hashtag or tag the artist. Especially as insta only allow you to tag 20 ppl to any posts or feels. I'd hate to miss anyone out.

NCT was pretty easy to learn. I would watch content from each unit to get to know the members and then whenever they came together I would know who each was and such

NCT (the group) officially debuted in 9th April 2016 with the single "The 7th Sense" under the sub-unit NCT U. The U in NCT U means unity, it is a group where the members who take part in a specific song changes according to the type or genre of the song basically like a rotational(?) group. For reference, there is different members taking part in "From Home" and "Misfit" due to the genre of the song. Every member under NCT is considered an NCT U member because they have taken part in different songs released under NCT U. The next sub-unit was NCT127. The 127 in NCT 127 is the longitude of Seoul, meaning the group represents the base(?) of kpop, the place where start it all(kpop), Seoul, Korea. NCT 127 originally debuted with 7 members, Taeyong Taeil Haechan Mark Jaehyun Yuta and Winwin with the song "Fire Truck" in 7th July 2016 but in their next comeback teaser "Limitless" in December 2016 both Doyoung and Johnny were added to the group and in their first full length album "Regular-Irregular", their last member Jungwoo joined. But in 2019, Winwin (a chinese member) went inactive from this sub-unit's activities because he's added into the new sub-unit that focuses their activities mainly to the audience in China. Since then NCT 127 has been active as a 9 member group. NCT DREAM is a group that represents youth and all members debuting were at most 17 y/o. Originally the group was like NCT U and had a rotational concept and the members would "graduate" once they've reached 20 y/o (korean age) and in 2018, Mark (who's in both NCT 127 and NCT DREAM) had turned 20 y/o (korean age) and had "graduated", and in 2019 NCT DREAM were active as a 6 member group. But on 14th April 2020 their company decided to make them into a fixed unit and added Mark back into the group which made them a 7 member group. Next sub-unit WayV (We Are Your Vision) is a group that consists of 4 Chinese member, 1 Taiwanese member and one Thai member whose ethnicity is Chinese. In 25th August 2021, a member went hiatus due to a scandal and has officially left the group WayV and NCT in 10th May 2023 but will continue his career as a solo artist. WayV is also a fixed unit. NCT DOJAEJUNG (DJJ) is a sub-unit that consists of 3 members from NCT 127 and made their official debut in 2023. The group name is according to their first name(?) = DOyoung, JAEhyun, JUNGwoo. In 23rd September 2020, two members Shotaro(Japanese) and Sungchan(Korean) were both added into the NCT lineup and has participated in songs released under the sub-unit NCT U but unfortunately in 24th May 2023 they were announced to depart from NCT and will be debuting in a new group under the same company (not NCT). But originally NCT was supposed to be a group that contains limitless members but their company decided to make the last debut (soon to be announced) and end the unlimited member concept. Hey Ben, maybe doing a video on the sub units, NCT127, NCT Dream, or WayV would be easier. It was overwhelming at first with so many members but now I'm used to it. 😆

They were 23 official members. The others in the video were just trainees. But 2 members that were added recently left (the company changed their opinion and decided to debut them in another group) and Lucas from wayv left recently

Poor Ben. He really needs someone to guide him through NCity. I was overwhelmed my first few months and that was back in 2017 with 15/16 members. I can't imagine trying to learn about NCT now.

NCT stands for Neo Culture Technology and their concept is that the group is constantly evolving, so they go adding new members. So for example when they came out they were not so many members, and WayV still did not exist (they debuted in 2019). In 2018 there were 18 members, the they added 3 more and formed WayV. In 2020 they added 2 more. And last year 3 more were included. It is a concept you have to get used to, but once you understand the concept and know the members it is so much easier, enjoyable and fun. I hope you continue to react to them in the future. Subunits are groups to Break down a group to promote separate content from the rest of the group. This is common with large groups to make it easier to work with them on content. NCT does a promotion all together once a year however.

Bro, a lot of things has been going on in NCT lately, the original members were 23 but Lucas (WayV) left the group on May 11 of this year to pursue solo activities, followed by Sungchan & Shotaro (NCT U) on May 24 as they were about to debut with new boy group from SM. 3 of SM rookies (SM trainees) were rumored to be joining a new NCT unit (Japanese unit) this year with Sungchan and Shotaro but apparently not (that's why you see some edits with 25 or 26 members) . As of now, NCT has 20 members. They will have another unit soon (Japanese unit) but the members are still not announced yet.

Subunits are divisions with established members in them, except NCT U, it's a flexible unit that can collect members of all the other units depending on the song. The members are 20 currently since some of them left very recently, tho we still support them. Every member has an established unit, but Mark and Haechan work with both 127 and Dream. You might watch the units separately to learn things a lot more easily.

Nct 127, NCT Dream, and WayV(NCT's chinese subunit). The only thing you might want to remember is that Mark and Haechan are both in NCT 127 and NCT Dream. But it's best to tackle them one at a time

i think it looks like a lot from the outside but once u start stanning and understanding their system it’s not that hard anymore and u start to enjoy the fact that they are such a large group

The advice is that NCT is divided into many groups so it will be easier to learn the name of 10 members first and then learn another one and continue like this, I started with NCT 127 because I knew more songs about them than other groups and now slowly I'm trying to learn more.

Also the "25" members uh, is no longer happening. SME recently announce 3 members departure and the 2 other supposed to be new NCT members for a new unit are gonna debut in a new SM boy group unrelated to NCT, while Shohei is unfortunately not gonna join because of his health.

People are telling you confusing info, maybe they’re not up to date but here we go, a fast intro to NCT: they’re currently at 20 members, they’re all divided per units, some fixed units and some seasonal units, the fixed units are NCT 127 with noisy experimental music (Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan), NCT Dream with youthful songs (Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung), Wayv the Chinese unit with c-pop songs (Kun, Ten, Winwin, Xiaojun, Hendery and Yangyang) and Dojaejung (Doyoung, Jaehyun and Jungwoo), the seasonal units are called NCT U and they can have any combination of members between all units, NCT U can release singles or be featured in NCT albums that are released almost every year with the whole group, they mix the members in NCT U units and they also have the fixed units songs but also a song with everyone in the group together (the NCT song). The member who left the group this year are: Lucas (was put into hiatus because of a sasaeng rumor and now is going solo, he was in Wayv), Shotaro and Sungchan (both debuted in NCT U and waited almost 3 years for a fixed unit, they were supposed to debut again with NCT Tokyo the new fixed unit set to debut later this year but left the group to join the company’s new boy group), Shohei (was supposed to debut in the new fixed unit set to debut this year called NCT Tokyo but left due to health issues), Eunseok and Seunghan (were supposed to to debut in NCT Tokyo too but left to debut in the new boy group along with Shotaro and Sungchan), so at one point NCT had 26 members and now they have 20 again but NCT Tokyo is still on going so more members will be added to form that unit. Nct127 is a 10 member unit: Taeyong (leader), taeil, doyoung, mark, haechan, Jaehyun, Johnny, yuta, Jungwoo and winwin (winwin however hasn’t been participating in the newer releases of nct127 as he is focusing on WayV). We have NCT Dream, which are the youngest members of nct. Two members mark and haechan are also part of nct127: Mark, Haechan, Jeno, Jaemin, Renjun, Chenle and Jisung. WayV is the Chinese unit of NCT: Ten, YangYang, WinWin, Hendery, Xiaojun, Kun and Lucas (Lucas, however, left nct a few weeks ago). NctU is a unit in which members can kind of collaborate with each other. Most of the time they are random members combined I don’t know how to explain it hahah. DoJaeJung is three members: Doyoung, Jaehyun and Jungwoo. When they release songs with all the members they call themselves nct 2019 or nct 2022 something like that. The idea behind nct was that they would have infinite members and that they would keep growing. But sm has announced that this is no longer going to happen

Okay let's answer a few things of the video, they are currently 20 members, 3 of them left recently, they are one whole group and they divide into smaller groups aka units, but they also have songs all together, the one guy that you said looks like an action k-actor is Jaehyun and he is also the lean guy with six pack, the one where you really likes the features is Jeno. Also you confused Jaemin with Mark the first two videos where you thought he was Mark, it's okay, NCT can take a while, also the guy you said could be in a Japanese school fighting movies is actually in one of those lol, his name is Yuta... I recommend you watch raw videos of them, they are super funny and all of them are super good looking, I think you would like their music, they have a pretty unique style and are quite energetic... NCT will take a while, even more than a while, but there are some members that are more popular and will prolly get their names fast, I know it can be overwhelming but its okay, take your time and enjoy, you don't have to know all of them

Ben, to understand the system you first have to treat NCT127, NCT Dream and WayV as 3 different kpop groups. And then you put this knowledge all together and you will understand NCT U and NCT as a whole group

I did baby steps into NCT. First it was NCT127, then NCT U, NCT Dream and then Wayv. Now NCT is one of my top favorite groups. I love Mark Lee. [They have songs like- Stop baby don't stop, Love talk, Whiplash, Baby Don’t Like It , and Make A Wish (Eng. Version)...18+ kind of songs. ]

hi a caratzen (fan of svt and nct) here :) i actually came across the svt one and now after watching this, i have to say i enjoyed your reaction videos so much. like your shocked expressions are very genuine since this is the first time you’ve heard of them 😆 i can relate to your confusion too because when i discovered both groups i reacted the same. thank god it didn’t take me so long to understand the system. svt and nct are worth stanning once you know all the members. their discographies are no joke and members are hella talented. do stan 13+22=35 guys (tho shotaro and sungchan moved to a new group, probably after you made this video so you didn’t know 😭)
