The trend I'm noticing is that the stand-alone excellent movies that don't get a sequel until a decade later are often cash-grabs and nostalgia bait that fail to understand what people liked about the first one. In recent years, we've gotten Wreck it Ralph 2, Incredibles 2, Megamind 2, etc. I'm pretty sure the only sequel we've gotten to a dormant franchise that has been mostly positively received was Puss In Boots, which was a priceless gem in a sea of turds.

Incredible 2 and wreck it Ralph 2 are at least watchable. Even if they're subpar to their originals, you can still tell they put effort into making them. THIS just seems like a cash grab where the people behind it were only doing it for a paycheck. I know it's been mentioned that the writers for this movie are the same ones from the first megamind. However, if that's the case, I can only assume either the writers didn't care anymore after so many years. Plus, if they're going from writing a big feature film to now writing a damn direct to streaming sequel film that's a backdoor pilot for a TV show, then that probably means they're probably desperate for a paycheck. XD

I didn’t know there was a Megamind 2. I kept wondering why it never got a sequel like Despicable Me. Now I see why.

That sounds like the line in a B-list action/horror movie.

At the very end there's an extra scene where some brain-villain guy claims to have been megamind's tutor at "villain school" and hints at a Megamind 3. I will bury myself if it actually happens.

There’s a TV show that is a continuation of this movie (Megamind 2). It’s on peacock and called “Megamind Rules!” Can I bury myself with you? I’m already dead inside after watching the movie and finding out this information

Going to rewatch Megamind (the first and only megamind) to cleanse my soul of this monstrosity 😭

I love this channel and it’s always fun to watch reactions here. Having said that, this was actually difficult to get through. Megamind 2 is so bad that every cut to the movie itself was almost physically painful.

MegaMind (from the first movie) probably would be traumatized if he saw the “second” movie they gave him, which isn’t and never will be canon.

I am absolutely terrified of this especially since I have never heard of this. Love the reaction as always! Now I do have a recommendation for the 'Princess Bride' but only so you can watch 'Once Upon A Deadpool' and get the hilarious joke that covers the entire movie. I promise that it will be 1,000 times better than this.

You know it's bad when the best part of the movie is the scene where it says "END"

Hello. Another British guy here. I’ve first came across your channel through the Chicken Little video a few weeks ago. Immediately loved your style, humor, etc. Megamind 2 was also bad; I gave up 11 minutes in.

19:40 I hate that animation because look down there to that French villain the floor is on his arm and the Mayor is not voiced by his original voice actor it sounds terrible

I don't know WHAT y'all are talking about... This is just a 24 min video of Welchy describing his nightmare after he watched Megamind and some other horrible movie too close together. There *is* no Megamind 2. Unless you count the "Shrek Fights" series that has Megamind in it. That's a more worthy sequel.

About the writers not watching the first film, it’s actually same writers from the first. The problem is it’s a different director who if anything is actually the one who didn’t watch the first film.

This feels like a failed pilot/script idea for trying to make a Megami T.V. Show that just got put into a movie
