The Winter Soldier did kill everyone he met up in till the Avengers for the most part.

For those upset that Zemo is no longer “serious” please remember, in civil war he achieved his goal, and was then sent to prison for eight years. Eight years of solitude, one will not come out the same they went in. But, Zemo could also be tricking Bucky and Sam into trusting him, so he can then take a 180 and turn on them. Remember Zemo always has a plan :)

I think he has something going, the book tells me he think that the only way of having things under control is with force, and his experience with Hydra tells me that he knows that the reason Hydra was able to stay that strong is because the Society and Governament was too "good" and Hydra could easily work his way to corruption Other than that i don't think he wants to harm those who let him out of prison and nor the Avengers, i think he somewhat learned his lesson and that his actions didn't really change things up as much as he tought despite the break between Cap and Iron man Therefore i think that once he's done with them he will escape and plan to take over something in his own way and not the "good" way that was filled with the corruption of Hydra

I find the complaints about Zemo in the show to be really strange considering that the major complaint about Civil War Zemo was that he was _nothing_ like the character in the comics, whereas the show Zemo is absolutely doing the classic Zemo long con of pretending to be a good guy as a cover for villainous deeds.

Though his arm is vibranium, I think he cleans it because it’s a reminder to him that a clean new arm means a new future ahead of him, and that taking care of his arm might be a form of self-assurance and healing, whereby - you know this feeling of when you have a new shiny thing, you want to keep it clean because it represents something good to you and you don’t want it to become dirty because if it does, it symbolizes something negative? Yeah, that feeling, I think, was one that Bucky was having when he was cleaning his hand in that scene. ...or I could be reading a bit too deep into the situation and he was just cleaning it because something pinged off the back of his hand during the previous firefight and then he ducked down out of sight when that happened, IDK. What do you think?

I just really hope Bucky had some kind of contingency plan for Zemo's inevitable betrayal. I hate when protagonists don't prepare for something they very obviously should have prepared for and have the skills and training to prepare for.

You missed a little detail. Previous episodes, bucky has refused to use his metal arm. but when he threatened to kill Zemo he grabbed him with his metal arm.

Sam's eyes goes into dollar sign when he found out that Zemo was rich. 😂

Yes. And I don‘t quite get why Marvel doesn‘t make an effort to hire people speaking proper German. It bothers me because they pay attention to so much detail yet don‘t cast German speaking actors. Batroc is French, too, for example. Also, I actually looked up Lemar‘s actor because I wanted to know why his German sounded so much better 😂 but according to Wikipedia, there is no connection between him and Germany. Anyway, he did a great job!

@@valeaves I don't know, but personally I don't really give a damn where actors are from or if they live according to their roles. They're supposed to act, not play themselves. At most, I'd rather they look like the character if they're based on one. Bad accents shouldn't determine who's hired. There are people from certain countries who can barely speak their mother tongue for various reasons and others who just learn the language, so it doesn't bother me. I get where people are coming from with that, but it's meh.

@@valeaves Well, we all know it's not always easy for certain people to know how to pronounce certain languages. For that to happen, like I mentioned as an option, they'd have to "live according to their roles." Not every actor can catch it. And also like I said, there are people from certain countries who can barely speak their mother tongue. If you ask me, that's pretty realistic. It would sound more robotic if every character did it perfectly.

It’s one thing when they hire someone who sounds so gopnik their mother is ashamed of them; it’s another if a supposedly russian character sounds like some Johnny doing his best ‘hoho Rasputin kalashnikov blyat’ voice. Imagine if a supposedly western american sounded like he’s spent his whole life in Italy. It may sound good to italians, but when you know what’s up it sounds painfully cringey. It *is* actually possible to train someone without any knowledge of Russian to recite Pushkin perfectly with no accent; there are vocal coaches specifically meant to teach actors how to talk the talk, and not just in foreign accents but also things as specific as Chicagoan African American Dialect. And MARVEL has the money and the time to spend perfecting this aspect of a performance, they just often don’t bother to. Although in CA:TWS there are several points where actual native Russian voiceover is used for the trigger words, and that made me so happy to hear; and Sebastian Stan, a man who to my knowledge has no russian at all, managed to do a clear enough impression that I could actually understand him (even the relatively mild accent makes perfect sense as his character is originally American) his diction was mushy but intelligible, and as the character was under some duress at that point that’s excusable. They were willing to go to that length for one of the main characters; they have the budget to do the same for anyone else involved. When they don’t it’s more than a little disappointing.

Imma start a petition for Marvel to make an entire episode of Zemo dancing in the club, bruh I would pay for that

Another thing to add to Zemo serving Bucky and Sam food, before going to Madripoor, Zemo mentioned to his Butler that any food that is past expiration he can serve to them (Bucky and Sam). So I laughed at that scene because Zemo is literally serving them past-expiration food 🤣

Zimo killed it this episode. You did miss that he’s smirking to himself as he gives Sam and Bucky the food. Guessing it didn’t pass the sniff test since he didn’t get any for himself lol

I'm rooting for a huge reveal. I dont think Sharon is the power broker but he does know who it is. As much as Hydra was defeated, it wasnt completed destroyed. So, what if Sharon is a sleeper agent for Hydra. If you were to read alot on 'ower Broker is watching', then you could think he/she is watching everything everywhere. It could be a character we already seen...Arnim Zola. (The computer was destroyed in Civil war, mean the AI could have transfered beforehand). And this new Captain America gets outed as a member of Hydra. Although, I am liking Baron Zemo playing like a anti-hero sort of role.

I like the fact that in this episode they show Zemo is complying and working with them willingly. There was several moments show him break away from them and he could’ve easily just left and never looked back and abandoned them. Yet each time he came back.

I don’t know if anyone mentioned this but when Bucky meets Zemo in prison and the theme plays, it is pitched to a higher harmonic implying it’s a brighter situation than before.

i'm surprised by how no one is talking about how Zemo is being a couples therapist to Bucky and Sam. helping them work out issues, possibly more effective that Bucky's therapist

Zemo's awkward dancing is the confidence level i aspire to have.

Another detail related to theme: When "Winter soldier" fights the thugs on Zemo's order, you can clearly hear the theme from Captain America: The Winter soldier with the scream.

I can we take sometime to appreciate zemos hair being perfect after taking off his mask

This was probably my favorite Marvel piece yet. Even among all the movies too. The Winter Soldier and civil war has always been my favorite. This episode was just brilliant.

It's really awkward when Sam have to answer Sarah's call. She asked about something normal but Sam answered like he is a bad guy. My favorite part of this episode

It was a cheap way to create a tense situation that eventually leads to their reunion with Sharon. It makes no sense for him to keep his phone on when he knows the importance of sticking to their fake characters.

Winter Soldier throwed the metal pipe on the goon like Aquaman in his movie.

I know they probably won't do this, but I hope that Zemo stays on their side for the whole series. His interactions with Sam and Bucky are too good

I think its more likely Zemo takes over for the Powerbroker after Sharon is arrested by Sam. Somebody has to fill in the power vacuum and keep order in the criminal underworld. He'll need some heavy muscle now too being on the run from Wakanda assassins

I love how when Bucky said "let me walk you through a hypothetical" Sam's first reaction was "What did you do?" It has the same energy as a parent talking to their child when they know the kid did something bad but don't know what

Technically Zemo broke himself out. All Bucky did was writing a note and pass it on.

A weird thing was that, even though the Prison was in Berlin, every Guard had the Crest of Hamburg on their shoulders.

Something nuanced that could be taken from the note book, is that Steve used it to note information to help him adjust to the new world he was discovering, whilst Bucky is now using it to atone for the past he is trying to leave behind.

The Winter Soldier scream theme is cut short when Bucky says that doesn't work anymore, yet later in the bar scene, the Winter Soldier theme screams through as he beats people up in the crowd.

Damn both ZEMO and Sharon Carter were just absolutely UNBELIEVABLE and badass in this episode , 😅 just UNREAL

How Sam says he will help clearing Sharon's name.... While he is struggling clear his bank loan 😂😊

I mean the escape plan seemed like Bucky's doing more than anything.

One detail I noticed. Just before Zemo serves the meal on the private jet, the wide shot shows Bucky cleaning his metal hand. Perhaps trying to wipe away his violent deeds from Madripoor. You can see a quick shot of it here at 14:42

The best part of the episode was Zemo's dance 😀

I think it's cuz it distracts the others enough for him to have a chance to do it. I find it interesting that the 'bounty hunter' shot the missile that blew up the lab immediately after Dr. Nagel died. Almost like maybe power broker had a biosensor on the doctor so he could destroy the lab leaving no evidence for anyone else if he needed to

4:58 I just noticed something. "Whitaker. Weaver. Hudson." Whitaker is voice actor of Darth Maul from Star Wars. Wevaer and Hudson are characters from "Call of Duty: Black Ops" Series. That's either a huge coincidence, or a little fun reference.

can't wait for episode 4 coming out tomorrow!!!! I'm glad that since they're not doing 9 episodes (like wandavision) then they're doing longer episodes, and personally i think that the flag smashers aren't the real villains of this series, the real villains would either be sharon as the power broker, someone else as the power broker, or the united states government. Great content keep it up man! so close to 1m subs!

You are so good! Talking about how zemo can’t stand a human becoming extra powerful or with god powers is exactly what we find out in the next episode

I just noticed Buck cleaning his bionic on the plane on the way to Latvia!

There were so many times I thought Zeno was going to double cross them and leave them hanging, but every time he comes back. I think he might actually like hanging out with Sam and Bucky just a little.

I think Zemo just hates super powered beings who are lifted up as icons. He has no problem with Bucky because Bucky has always been seen as a threat and without orders, brainwashing or a good reason to use them, would rather not use his abilities. As for Sam, he's just a regular dude who can see the flaws in the system and knows that being an icon doesn't matter as much as getting the job done and taking responsibility for whatever happens. There's LITERALLY no reason for him to dislike them.
