The reason the prince had a Spanish accent in Barbie Mariposa is because the word "Mariposa" is Spanish for butterfly. Sort of a nod to the origins of Barbie's name in that movie.

no one gets princess charm school like i do. it was my comfort barbie movie. i used to hate school not until i watched it back in my elementary days. it made me start loving school and romanticizing it... i remember how obsessed how i am with the "fairy companion" each student have and i used to be so jealous of their magical locker 😩 reminiscing it feels so nostalgic. planning on rewatching and see if its really that good since it is always ranked so low. tho it may be not as great as how my grade school self find it 😩😓

In my opinion, the new Barbie doesn't teach u or inspire u to do anything. It's just watching Barbie with her problems that aren't relatable. Video game hero, puppy chase where she stayed away from her sisters the Hawaii puppy chase where she gets them stranded, spy squad where she stayed a loser the whole movie, secret door when she couldn't give have the strength to say like a sentence to a few girls cuz she wanted to read. And the message at the end of the credits on rock and royals was rock your own story....if I were a kid I would be like but u want to be someone else that's not rocking your own story. Stuff like that makes u not a fan of Barbie in my opinion

Actually, I want to clarify something. The white horses with the pink hair in Pony adventure movie are NOT magical. They are said to have this... "Superior" skills, like more speed and jump power, and they are more intelligent too, all this by genetic, but they remain as a myth since they haven't been seen for a long time. Barbie is a National Equitation competitor, and she's looking for her new horse, which is very important for her, of course, and that's the reason they traveled there, to her aunt's equitation academy. She eventually finds the white and wild horse by casualty and after a bunch of things they become closer. Meanwhile, her aunt is having some economic problems due to the lack of students (real problem in many sport academies recently) and thanks to Barbie and her sisters' talent they get to save the place and gain attention by winning some inter-academic competences. And in the end, Barbie is really happy with her new horse (since she's as good as the legend, and will surely get her a gold medal) but she doesn't want to take her liberty away (which she will if she takes her as a competence horse) so she lets her go. If you ask me, this is the best "Barbie-and-her-sisters-kind" movie by far. Realistic, with good character development (cause you'll see new sides of the sisters too) and with good arguments too (and songs xD). I do recommend watching it, despite it doesn't have magic and fantastic things. I liked it a lot, and would have placed it higher in the list.

I'll give it a well-reserved second try since my impression was quite similar like Caitlin: "Boring" even when many Barbie movies could feel that way and not necessarily be a bad thing!!!

The original Barbie's are honestly prettier than the latest better animation versions. Rapunzel, Genevieve, Diamond castle ones... they're just BEAUTIFUL!!! 😍

I remember watching Barbie: Starlight Adventure on repeat for days, over and over, after my dad died. I was 24 with a Barbie movie on loop, but something about the movie just calmed me, took me out of my pain for a little while and was just--I don't know, a great movie to enjoy with some escapism that isn't overly cheesy, but also has a happy ending (as expected).

@@kripa9884 I can't tell if that's a joke or not. either way we could always use more diversity in the barbie cinematic universe

they take low res screenshots of these movies and put them into little paperback books and before i learned to read i would come home from my elementary school library and force my mom to read those books to me. she had to call it quits as soon as she read the words “gloss Angeles”

the fact that ive watched every single movie you named shows my obsession with barbie 😭✋ i grew up watching them so even to this day ill sometimes have a little barbie marathon for no reason

Barbie taught me that it was okay for boys to wear tight clothes and dance with girls... *Also Barbie In The 12 Dancing Princesses is the most iconic film in the series and that's that on that.*

Came back to watch this again after impulsively watching and loudly singing along to cats meow. At 28 years old. Yes I need therapy but this is the cheapest form of it and 100% works to cheer myself up.

"But do you know what's even more awesome?? JUST DANCE" I am wheezing.

What did we learn today kids? Barbie needs to make more new princess/magic film set in a remote era that would just be PERFECT with the new animation.

Carol the Cake uGh i know. I really miss the pastel, beautiful colors and the beautiful scenery of natural landscapes and whimsical things like castles back in the old Barbie movies. I’m not a big fan of them incorporating so much newer style animation which doesn’t have the same charm as well as incorporating modern technology and even futuristic technology and themes. I understand current toddlers and younger kids will relate to it, but I wish they would keep it like they did in the older days to keep that nostalgic and charming feel, yet use the resources they have today to add a little twist, if need be. But they’ve completely changed it.

It's unfortunate Mattel isn't going to make more. Straight to DVD isn't cost effective anymore. I think they might come back to it if some new platform pops up, but I'm not optimistic.

That's basically how you can enjoy everything. Sometimes I get mad when people say they don't like something because it doesn't have logic, like, forget about logic!! It doesn't matter here!

I had an awkward moment when she said "for young girls, and older girls"😂.

This is SO NOSTALGIC! I watched almost all of them when I was younger and my top 3 are "Princess and the pauper", "Princess Charm School", and "Barbie and the 12 dancing princesses".
