I wish Apple had done a watch in the direction of withings. Focusing on the essential, minimalism. Thanks for your comparison! I bought a withings scanwatch last year (2021) and after using it for some days I returned it for the reasons you mentioned.

Would have loved more details about battery life.

Nice review. I just get notifications from people I've highlighted as "VIPs" rather than lots of notifications. Bear is great. And I use the watch bfir far more than I ever expected, including media controls whilst the iPhone is charging. Not sure you need to check you body fat fluctuations?!

honestly the social notifications on the apple watch is amazing. It allows me to figure out which text messages or emails are very important to pull my phone out for and etc. This really helps me stay off my main phone more and be more productive.

No message is important enough if you need a system to tell you its important. You are indicating a solution for a non existing problem. The solution would be to not care about your message until you find an acceptable time to view them, perhaps combined with to simply stop receiving non important junk content.

What kills the Apple Watch for me is the battery duration. Until they do better I am not buying one. Another factor is that obviously it is still ugly, but that is not a deal breaker. Battery duration is.

A watch video! Awesome haha, as a fellow automatic/manual watch lover I don’t see myself ever buying an Apple Watch but good info to know anyways haha! Maybe one day you’ll go into the backstory of the rest of the collection

The one thing about the apple watch is that it does not age well and kind of requires buying a new one every 1-2 refreshes. The battery diminishes the software slows down - leaving the watch feeling super laggy.

Hi, great video! With the Apple watch SE now the same price at the Withings Steel HR Sport, it was a very difficult decision as to what my new watch was going to be. In the end it came down to style and battery life vs features; and went with the Withings. However, I will forever be envious of the speech to text feature of the iwatch...:-)
