FPV s a hobby which is growing and taking a lot of interest. Radiomaster Zorro is a compact video game console style FPV radio for this hobby.
This video is to review the radio and compare it to other similar transmitters using while flying FPV drones, analog and digital (DJI drones).

    The batteries are pretty cheap really, so buying a second set is a good option, which is what I did. Also I’ve ordered the long cable in case I’m going to be flying for more than my usual time flying, so it’s not going to be much of a problem for me or most people.

    Great review. I still prefer the tx12 with an elrs module over the Zorro. Much better screen placement and battery life. Has the same Jr bay as my tx16s, so they can be swopped out without modification and you can use the 1 watt module. Runs edgetx no problem. Stock gimbals are potentiometer, but are working fine for me right now. It uses the same gimbals as the zorro, so they can be upgraded later to halls or the more expensive ones.

    TX12MK2 takes the original and adds some refinements like internal ELRS, you can use the 5000mah battery as well as 18650s, internal USB charger, bigger grips. It's certainly another option for a mid-size radio that isn't in the game pad form factor.

    Are you planning on doing flights over 30 kilometres or more, because otherwise as I’ve seen on a video 250 milliwatts will get you over that distance.

  • @kurtzFPV

    @kurtzFPV

    Жыл бұрын

    @@davidreynolds8551 I'd love to try some long distance one day. Not too many places I fly are convenient for it. To me, it has more to do with penetration and flying completely behind myself around obstacles at low altitude on compromised antennas and areas of high interference for now. It is nice to have the power in case it is needed.

  • @adeyinkabrasil4426
    @adeyinkabrasil44262 жыл бұрын

    Just one point to add though: If ELRS is configured correctly, and the antenna setup is premium, there is no way a power setting of 250mw would be required, unless you are going double digit distances. And if that's the case, I would think the pilot would know better than to buy the Zorro, which I think is geared toward medium range, freestyle, sub 250g pilots.

    I completely agree, but most of time I do my videos thinking about new users, or beginner users, the lowest common denominator, who most probably won't know what antennas to use, and it will be easier for them just to change the output power. But you are spot on, and I would love to heard about your set up. What do you use for antennas? What configuration you have for your ELRS system?

    @@NordFPV Hi, I'm mainly into 3inch toothpicks, which I use to push the limits of my R9mm/R9m combination....I have a frsky zipp 9 moxon high gain antenna on the module, and the stock frsky antenna on the rx. The scroll wheel is not plastic, it's aluminium, you can tell it is metal as it is cold to touch as it conducts heat away from you finger, plastic does not do this.

    What defines an FPV radio?

  • @NordFPV

    @NordFPV

    5 ай бұрын

    That's a though question. I normally refer to a FPV radio just to say they work with FPV. Most of those radios will work with other devices beyond FPV, but at the same time, the number of buttons/switches maybe small and designed more towards FPV than for example fixed wings...

    There is absolutely 0 people on the planet Earth who are looking for a tiny radio, so stop saying its made as a compact radio for carrying around. Literally EVERY person with a quad is taking the same items out and the game style radio being slightly smaller does not count for not taking a radio.... Every clown on the internet seems to think its designed to be slightly smaller and easier to transport. IT and ALL GAME STYLE RADIOS ARE NOT.... STOP COPYING VIDEOS WHICH YOU ASSUME ARE CORRECT. They are built to bridge the gap between gamers and pilots. It has jack shit to do with being easier to put in an entire car ffs.

    People like smaller radios because they are easier to fit into a backpack. With a smaller radio you can also get a smaller backpack...a tx16s is 800-900 grams...a game style radio is less than half of that in some cases. You might have a car, but not everyone does.
