"I Was Unapologetically Myself" | Mission: Accepted S2 Ep. 14
Ойын-сауық
This is the season finale of Mission Accepted, and. we are ending with an incredible applicant. She turned 15 secondaries into 11 acceptances and is still waiting to hear back from two schools. She credits her authenticity, not her stats, with her success.
You can follow her on social media: @melanin.in.med on Instagram.
Mission: Accepted features successful med school applicants. We dive into their full applications, looking at specifically what worked well, along with what they could've done even better.
To apply to be featured on Mission: Accepted, fill out the application at MissionAccepted.tv/apply.

She’s going to NYU!!! Congrats!
She is amazing. I bet her interviews and secondaries were top tier.
this applicant had the best PS by far, she deserves it for sure
She's absolutely adorable and her application piques curiosity. Congratulations young lady.
She seems like she'll make an amazing doctor! Congrats Morgan!
Mission Accepted never fails to brighten my day
Congratulations!! I can tell you will be an amazing doctor :)

We agree!
I am so inspired by her!
So nice to watch!
The couponing hobby was really weird at 19:45 tbh. The way it's written is so surface-level and the part about donations is so forced. Very "tell not show" which I feel gets ripped apart in application rennovation videos. Many people in this country cannot afford food without coupons, sales, assistance, etc. so adding this as a hobby comes off as very ignorant to me.

It looked like she just watched the show extreme couponing and just pasted what the contestants have said on the show. Anyone who has watched the show could have written that description.
Dang, she hit all the marks. Of course she got in lol
With those stats there's really no reason not to get in

literally the video after this one had perfect stats and no acceptances because he had no personality/passion. more to getting in than stats
Hello! I was wondering if you could review a TMDSAS application?
Congratulations 😍🤝
What is the name of your book so could buy it?
It looks like the video is “sped up” when she speaks, her face and mouth move 2x, but her words are 1x. It’s tripping me out lol

I have a question from a high schooler, will I need to retake ap chem and ap bio in college to fulfill those pre-med reqs or can I just use the ap credits? I know most med schools are different on this but what would the general answer?
@MedicalSchoolHQ

Most will ask that you retake. -M

Retake is recommended but some schools will allow you to use the credit *if* you use it to take a higher level class (at least for bio)
This woman had STELLER stats and there are still comments about race on here. Wow

A lot of premeds have an ego issue and it shows in these comment sections. It somehow makes them feel better about themselves. Hopefully that’s transparent in their apps bc these are the ppl we need to weed OUT

It’s because he has other videos on here of Asian kids with even better stats than her whose applications he rips apart. So it’s clearly not about the stats. But ppl r assuming it’s due to race and not the essays

I love the way she talks. What’s wrong with being confident? She seems fantastic, I totally see why every school would want her.

@@bumble10sj I don’t think it’s the confidence or the content. I think she just has very distracting and highly irregular facial expressions. The unpredictability bothers some. I had to cover her mouth during the video because it was just a lot.

It’s the gesticulations… she’d make a great pediatrician though. Kids tend to be drawn to that.
Her goal in being a doctor is to increase diversity in medicine? I think that came out wrong
@mrbungle2627

@Calm Blizzard I think some people are quick to point that out because tokenism is highly regurgitated and low-ball considering there is already ORM and implicitly URM.

Skin color is the most important part of being a doctor didn't you know? That's why they get free handouts and don't have to perform at the same level competitively with everyone else. Lower the bar if you're brown because skin color is the most important thing in medicine.

@@getitdone252 yes she clearly had the bar lowered for her with a 4.00 GPA and 519 MCAT but no, keep this delusional thinking!

@@LO-ct4gy Good point. Now let's look at overall averages of acceptance by race.
She comes off very fake, but at least she got the A
Her best qualification is not her gpa or mcat. Everyone knows what it is except Dr. Gray, of course. He tries his level best to pretend that he doesn’t know what it is. I wish every Asian American citizen with 4.0 and 519 can get into NYU and get 11 acceptances. In my dream of course.

there's always a race discussion on here whether its for a high or low stats minority student, which is strange because there are other videos with majority students getting in with a sub 505 and low gpa with no complaints on race, its ridiculous. we all know race plays a role, get over it and try your best to get accepted.

She's black and that's amazing and we need more black doctors bc representation matters!
@blackflower6635

@@Esterabides Representation has to occur naturally. You shouldn’t force it by accepting less qualified people at the expense of better qualified people, just because of their skin color. That’s immoral. If you want more black doctors, work with black students from kindergarten, have them work hard as people with different skin color and improve their qualifications.

What in the world? How can you judge every black female doctor by the few minutes of exposure to this one girl? How can you even judge her with such limited exposure?
