Even though I was at the Sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro for just the dress rehearsals before the big competition, I was blown away by how PROFESSIONAL and spectacular it was!
Over two nights I got to see all the top Samba schools put on mini versions of their parade floats, costumes, dances, and samba music. Even though they were just practicing and working out the kinks for the main event, it felt like the real deal with thousands of spectators cheering on the Samba dancers and drum lines.
The costumes, floats, and choreography were on another level...so colorful, so lively, so BRILLIANT! I've never seen anything like it before. Just wow! From the giant floats depicting Brazilian culture and legends, to the sexy carnival costumes covered in feathers and sparkles, it was a non-stop visual feast!
Experiencing the energy and excitement of Rio's world-famous Samba schools as they geared up for Carnival's Samba Parade competition was a once in a lifetime experience.
