He says the phrase "aggravated sexual assault" at every available opportunity even when it seems like he's kind of shoehorning it in unnecessarily a bit. He wants those three words to ring in the jury's ears when they're deliberating. This guy is mad as hell at his former client, and with good reason.

They are smarter then the cops, prosecutor, judge, etc.,in their own minds, and think their ideas are right. The prosecutor had no objections because the defendant is doing a fine job convicting himself! This video should be shown to law students as a great example of why pro se is terrible for defendants ignorant of criminal law.

This was the ONLY way Mr. Wilkerson would be forced to tell the court that his client admitted his guilt on some very serious charges. This is one reason why I couldn't be a lawyer. It would eat me up inside having to defend a person who literally told me he was guilty of the (very serious) charges he is accused of committing. Mike, speaking of Perry Mason moments. When I was 9 years old I had 4 rabbits that lived in a pen outside. We had a crazy blizzard while we were gone overnight. My rabbits died, it was horrible. My Dad told me they had died and so he had buried them. I saw 4 small bags in the freezer a week or so later. I thought my Dad had killed my rabbits and put them in the freezer! At dinner one night, I asked him “So, my rabbits died from the cold and you buried them?” And he said “yes, Honey”. Then I got up whipped open the freezer door and said “So, what is in these bags?”! And my mother says “Chickens”…. I went to bed early with no dinner that night. 😂

That case with the dad sitting back and smiling, warms my cold, dead heart. I've spent the better part of 30 years helping dads get rights and custody of their kids and to be treated equally and fairly in court. Seeing dads get a little bit of peace and satisfaction in a system where moms are the default golden parent is brilliant.

Is the full trial available anywhere? I can't imagine this guy acting competently as his own attorney. I suppose it's possible the actual physical evidence was lacking or some witness wasn't seen as credible, causing one or more jurors to refuse to convict in spite of this damaging evidence.

  • @OscarSommerbo

It could have been a bond revocation hearing. That happens before the trial. So it is possible, but you missed the delicious answer, "No to my knowledge" means "I don't know, but I am betting my left lung that you have been.". Lawyers are tricky like that.
