Um, technically it was ketchup, which is actually a normal thing to put on eggs. Once again there's a dad who plays favorites. I'm just glad their dad eventually saw the error of his ways. I'm also glad that despite their dad treating him so bad, Mason helped him get better. That shows that he's the bigger person.

The way the father treated Maison is just insane. Not supporting his writing hobby, shouting at him, insulting him and not been there for him the same way he's been there for Janelle. As someone so close to your life you love both children the same and support they're dreams weather you like it or not.
