我是新加坡人，在香港工作快4年半了，但还是不习惯和别人同桌吃饭。 所以当我和朋友出去吃饭时，我所做的是我们尽可能多地点菜以填满桌子，这样就没人能和我们拼一张桌子了。

Whatever it is, it still needs time to overcome everything. Precautions is still very much observed.

I can relate Just went korea and Taiwan recently and the people still wear mask outdoor It will be quite some time till they get used to pre covid times. As for us in SG we will be back to pre covid tomorrow with the last safety management measure remove. Thank god 🎉

That is when new waves from new viruses start to return. There have new weekly waves when people return from short oversea trips over the weekend and for the longer holidays to Europe or the U.S. for instance, I heard of a story that a family of four who were fully vaccinated and doubly boosted with the government recommended vaccination, who never have an infection back home, came back with three infected and they thought those places were clean.

Actually this is also one of my concern when mask restriction is removed in MRT and the person sitting beside me keeps talking on the phone, regardless whether my immunity is high or low. I should probably continue to wear face mask in the MRT.

If I am not mistaken, many older and middle aged people still wear mask in crowded situations or entering a lift or a confined place.

People in sg don't bother looking while we eat, definitely feels more relaxed 😌

Encountered many times people asked to share tables. Then they started talking loudly. I looked at them. But no use, end up I quickly finished my food and left.

其實我上年去完澳洲同新加坡九個月返到黎都好唔慣大家仲係咁驚青，明明九成人已經中咗兼打埋針，但後尾我開始明，當你已經飽受左幾年咁嚴格嘅防疫措施，以及中招後嘅麻煩，就算而家放鬆晒，大家個mindset仲係一時三刻改唔到，我其實覺得大家去番幾轉旅行感受番一下大家嘅大解放，返返黎個心態就會改到🤣🤣🤣 至於搭抬，我見有啲人話唔衛生，其實去外國cafe成班唔識嘅坐埋一張大bar抬飲咖啡都一樣好迫，而且外國人講英文講到興起時嗰種blah blah blah口水隨時多過我哋🤣

Irene, 给香港人多点时间，我们也是过来人。我想唯一不同的是，我们应该不会叫（就算很有礼貌的）对方收声。一般上通常会尽快吃完或者有可能的话移到别的坐位。

其實在馬來西亞也是一樣。太多人已經習慣戴口罩。幾聲咳嗽沒帶口罩的話還是有人會輕輕建議你戴口罩會比較好。 可能因為氣候不佳，沒有Covid,也有普通感冒 (influenza)

Amazing how some people are still so fearful despite 3 years of covid. No wonder they are so easy to control.

从香港友人的了解，至今还有不少的香港人对于Covid-19犹如惊弓之鸟，对去年2-4月香港的惨状还记忆犹新，需要时间来冲淡。你的留言说到，你是看到对方有在交谈后你才和Ah Boy讲话，他们这就有点说不过去，他们或许认为外面的疫情比香港严重得吧。

My personal observation looking back is the lack of scientific knowledge on different strand of virus is quite sad. Eg delta and omicron, most don’t even know the difference and Govts all around the world aren’t providing that to the masses, but just dishing out policies instead of scientific facts and research findings…

AH BOY，波鞋街幾十家店面 不是允記就是運動家的(當然還有其他少數別家)所有價錢和折扣都一樣，沒競爭力

過去幾年在餐廳食野搭台，都吾講野，因口水飛出封面。中招睇病，私家醫生吾想睇convid19,要去政府醫院或診所，入院親人探病有限制。

During lunar new year second day I reminded a black t shirt wearing young man with his girl friend sitting opposite me to wear his mask properly as it was below his nose and he was also chatting. It was in a bus and in those seats with passagers facing each other. I reminded him twice. He got angry and used vulgarities. So we had a short altercation.

@@SuccessforLifester I believe u are referring to hiong2, which is quite commonly used. hiong1 is not so common (though it exists in Hokkien vocabulary); a close friend often said it to me when I smoked him or he saw me doing non-criminal hacks to save on parking - it can be a general term to describe smoke/trickery/deception/fooling of something/someone at best, or cheating/cheated of something and even scammed at worst

可能香港到時解除口罩令初期都有人會繼續戴口罩，可能到真係夏天好熱時會開始有人唔戴，先會慢慢唔戴。搭枱文化我到而家都好多人唔鐘意😂，雖然話做生意但其實有心想食既人其實唔介意等，搭枱又加重左餐廳同一時間侍應既工作量，同埋張枱咁細d客想叫多少少野食都唔得，其實咁做可能反而賺少左錢，呢d鋪應該要改善下。

Whatever, whoever is in the right or wrong...we should practice full hygiene when dining in or out...both sides have all rights and no wrong.....even in Singapore ..during LO HEI in All Restaurans session you can easily seen every table at least 7- 10 person Shouting Huat Ah...in front of the LO HEI and sometimes in front of the others directly or indirectly... so so so..??? Who's Right and Who's Wrong ???..Just be Happy and Live with Life.. 百忍成金... PEACE NOT WAR ... hahaha...

Well , in Singapore we already need not wear mask indoor or outdoor except in public transport and hospitals so lou hei during CNY nothing wrong

@@IrenereneHK I will probably ignore that lady anyway. She has her rights to express her opinion but you have your rights to talk in restaurant too. If she's so scared of being infected, she shouldn't be eating outside, and can consider takeaway.

I was once asked if okay to share booth seats with another couple at Holland's V Tai Cheong Bakery cos I wanted indoor seating. I said ok but regretted it afterwards because it was soooo awkward! Never gonna do it again haha. But somehow I am ok with sharing at hawker centre, eat and go I guess.

Don't forget that HK suffered from HK protests for a whole year and in addition to it, they suffered from covid virus for 3 years - total of 4 years. That explains why many business had to be closed down. Again, HK is quite small, so that's why people have no choice but to sit with strangers at the same table. Is it possible for you to share whether food cafe, restaurants and drink stalls in HK use cashless payment or not? What about taxis?

HK People still in zero covid policy mindset. It takes time to change..

In 2021 during the COVID at the bedok hawker centre, a woman was alone on a table for four and I asked to join her. She said oh sorry, can you find other places, I hope you understand.

i think people have to slowly adjust to living with Covid. Hong Kong just open up later and people are still adjusting. and most of Singaporeans already had Covid and was vaccinated. So less fear

之前還未達到herd immunity, 每個未陽過的人，都是乾才烈火的易燃体。達到herd immunity後，我們轉為非易燃體，病毒不會這樣容易傳播。

I would say HKers are just more direct and their natural tone sounds slightly more harsh when talking to strangers. How we feel about HKer is exactly how Taiwanese feels about Singaporean when working with us.

When the mask mandate is finally stopped in HK, I think many people will continue to wear one for a long time. I will be in HK in a couple of months and as a westerner if mask wearing is removed, a lot of people will not want to be near me on the MRT or in restaurants.

去旅游我不会去香港，香港人太度不怎么友善，第一次去茶樓吃点心，因为慢了点食物就被他們用很不客气的批评，第=次孩子去香港也是同様的事情發生。在馬路上走路他們的車跑得很快，也同様被駡。所以説在也不去香港了。

All these precautions are meaningless for Covid. HK had such strict quarantine in the previous 3 years and yet almost everyone still ends up catching Covid at the end like Singapore. And HK's Covid death number is much higher.

@@IrenereneHK Listening to expatriâtes who wanted to bring their superior health standards in or was it to get you into the same boat, the death rate when control was totally lax that the death rate was 150 to 170 a day, which above the birthday of the SAR. Just see who were trying to convince the Chinese to lift their zero Covid policy to the point of bringing in Hong Hongers yellow people and Taiwanese mandarin speaking people and also whites as well as blacks during a time when the borders were still close (must have taken them a lot of trouble with local help to get in) and when the China immediately reopen their borders there reacted suddenly with bans. They seemed surprised. So did they really want the Chinese borders to be re-opened or not? For entry yes but not exit.

It seems like HK is getting more isolated to the world, unfortunately.

Agreed! HK very dirty. Maybe its their old buildings, some of the roads have potholes, drains are clog and with foul smell, and many old dirty run down shops, One old building and next is a new building or a tall building next to a short building, very messy city

Singapore do have sharing of table especially lunch hour in CBD area during weekdays. Even in crowded food court or crowded hawker centre, sharing of table is common regardless weekday or weekend. You can rest assured that over here in Singapore, no one will tell you to stop talking when sharing table with strangers.

Actually, Hk and china residents regard SG as covid high risk area because of our high covid number. You were told to stop talking in the restaurant is understandable. Do not have to feel upset. HK has very low vaccination rate so people are more fearful. Partly also they are not well informed. SG is actually safer than your home country.

言之过早。香港的生命力很强，而且大陆又有源源不绝的人才可以移居到香港。香港会继续繁荣。新加坡面对的人口、人才、认同问题远远比香港严重，能不能繁荣、生存下去还是个问题。

其實不管到什麼國家，要在細小的枱舆陌生人面對面地吃飯，也應該盡量少說話，免應响到别人，是尊重也是禮貌! 我覺得問題在你那處，不要拿新加坡做藉口。

我也是了解到我講話會影響到她們⋯⋯只是我看到她們也在說話🥲 不關新加坡事～但在新加坡整體環境感覺上比香港放鬆一點
