I actually don't mind crazing, especially if it's just going to be a display item. I love the character and antique feel that it gives. Anyone else agree?

Totally agree! It’s beautiful character and a testament to how much it was loved. In my area the more crazed, tarnished or chippy painted it is the easier it sells. Funny how different things appeal to other areas of the US!

It may be a child’s regular meltdown you were witnessing but I used to work with children who had behavioral related conditions. Part of my job was community integration. One of the biggest things I would hear from parents was related to them always being so worried about what others are judging them for in public… that’s why any “unexpected” behaviors from children in public doesn’t bother me. Just food for thought.

My sweet mom bought a Kohls Care stuffed toy from “ If I ran the Zoo”. It was ugly but she told my sister she loved it and actually didn’t want to give it to my grandkids at Christmas. But she did and unbeknownst to her we bought her the same one for her to open . The smile on her face and her laughter was priceless. So while they don’t fetch much it was one of my best memories. We won’t have mom for much longer but I’ll have that memory until I die

Danni I was in an antique store in Lancaster Pa and as I’m walking around I was so excited to know what some things were because of watching your channel. They had the planet glasses in original box for 60$, an hanker chief vase for 40$, and the little clay looking frogs you got for 25$. I didn’t buy any of those items but was just happy to be some what educated. Thanks to you 🤩

Great finds. I didn't know how desirable the acrylic candles are I have several sets. Copper, gold, silver. Im glad I held on to them. They still look brand new. As to the screaming child. When my children were young, I could go anywhere they were so well behaved. I do remember on one occasion, I was in a small local post office waiting on line to send out packages my son out of nowhere screamed and screamed as if harm was coming to him. He happened to be teething. Nothing would calm or comfort him. I got looks of daggers, even the postmaster made a remark. I was morterfied. Then I remembered. He is a baby. Before you judge it is not always bad parenting for some kids wailing. When I see a child acting out, or in discomfort, I will lend a helping hand to the parent. It's called COMPASSION!!!!

Never say, you can play it the toy department if you're good till Mom's done. One of my daughters do that. Big screaming disaster. If you say , behave or we are leaving, then leave immediately. Leave your cart and go. Then look sad and don't talk except yes or no. A little guilt won't hurt! And most often I had a pleasant shopping experience!

My mom had 6 and took us shopping at the commissary. She didn't really have much of a choice. If we misbehaved we'd get a whooping (this was the 60s and 70s). Years later, when I read somewhere if you want to lose weight confine your shopping to the store periphery and don't go down the center aisles, I realized that was Mom's strategy. We never saw the snacks and candy and sugary cereals.

My daughter behaves very well and I don’t tolerate meltdowns, but she is also 2 years old and toddlers have moments no matter how “great” of a parent you are. I do believe there is a time to go home with toddlers, but it’s interesting to think someone should leave a store to cater to people who don’t have/have forgotten what it’s like to have young children, and especially for someone believes a public store should be quiet just so they can film for KZread. I love watching these videos for sure, but I realize there are people there and you can’t really control that environment nor should you expect to.

I threw a huge, hissy fit tantrum in a Kmart when I was about 7. Mom brought me to the school supply aisle, got a ruler and smacked my butt with it a couple of times with it. Then we hit the check out [she bought the ruler too!] and left. I knew I was pushing it....she taught me there were limits. Never did that again! ....and we kids never saw the inside of a restaurant until we were old enough to know to properly behave.

yes amen God gives us children and they are a gift but we must also make the gift mind and be a productive and nice human being , I had a co worker and everytime we invited her to dinner she brought her spoiled undisplined son to the restaraunt . My daughter was with us also . He proceeded to get up and run around the table and my daughter who was 7 at the time put him in his place and told him this is a place where you eat not a playground . She never brought him again . I liked her but her son was a total brat .

Great video! I’m in Vermont and sadly, we only have two Goodwill stores that are pretty bare and literally contain just junk. We do have small antique stores scattered throughout our state, however, they’re wildly over priced, especially the stores around towns which are near the ski areas. Our best luck in finding real treasures, are at garage sales or in the autumn, at town harvest festivals, which are always super fun. I totally agree with you concerning screaming children. I never allowed either of my three, now grown, children a chance to misbehave anywhere we went. I just wouldn’t tolerate it. They knew exactly what I expected out of them. Whenever we were out and about, I really cared a lot about respecting others who were shopping as well. I rarely got a chance to get out without my children, but when I did, the very last thing I wanted to hear were screaming, misbehaved children with parents who clearly had no care in the world for other peoples time. It still gets under my skin to be subjected to parents who disregard the suffering they cause to other people. I’ve been a single mom since my youngest was 2yrs old, so I had to be very strict, as they never had a chance for a father’s influence….lol, I use to shake in my shoes whenever our mother would tell us, “wait until your father gets home”. 😳

Please don't paint every parent with the same brush. Yes, some people are ignorant when it comes to in public behavior. I find the majority of parents these days too be more involved with their childrens thoughts and feelings. When I was young, you never saw dad in the playground with his kids. Now, it is common place to see.
