Such a cool video! Definitely need to do more collabs with Ozzie in future. He is such a cool guy. It’s amazing how being an elite baseball player translates to fish keeping. Everything he does looks so organized and meticulous. He clearly does everything the best he can in life.

This video is terrific Kev! I have watched your videos and learned from when you talk about your mistakes and successes. I tell my wife about your channel all the time and how it has helped me with my fish. But...baseball and fish! Two of my greatest loves...slam dunk video with the great Ozzie!

It’s true 😅 I started with a little 5 gallon for my son who wanted some fish at the pet store. And I’m the one who got hooked. Went from a 5 to a 10, then to a 29 and then to a 75 all within a year lol

I hear about so many people that got deep into this hobby by running across a "Kaveman Aquatics" video. I myself probably never would've gotten into it if I hadn't seen one of his videos. Like Ozzie and his wife before a Kaveman video I too was one of the bucket carriers. I used to fill one of those five gallon jugs that you see on to of the water coolers. That's how I filled up my aquarium. Didn't know jack about ammonia, nitrates, bacteria bloom, none of that. I would just put the water in and that was it. I don't know how those poor fish made it as long as they did. My homeboy sent me a video of Kev talking about the ViVosun water pumps that he was using and it was a game changer. My Vivosun pump will get 60% to 75% of that water out in about 5 to 10 minutes. I also use the method he taught me about putting a large tote in the tub, fill it with water and put my Prime in there, throw the pump in and fill my tanks back up. I watched so many of Kev's videos that my wife started complaining that if she hear Kev say "Let's Go" one more time she's gonna throw that computer out the window. LOL. Now she's into this hobby just as much as I am. She's right there every Sunday with me helping me do those water changes. We do them early so we can watch our football. I love the hobby. Even the work. I started with one 55g. Now I have two 55g's, a 65g, a 15g, and a 90g on the way. Thank you Kev for the videos. You have gotten so many people interested in this hobby and learning how to help our fish thrive. I wish I could've gotten a chance to meet you while you were in Atlanta. I'm about 30 minutes away in Dallas, GA. Maybe next time.

As far as cycling tanks. I do the fishless with ammonium Chlorode and Stability. After ammonia and nitrates get to 0, I add fish and feed lightly and haven't had a ammonia spike. Works well

I have a 55 gallon tank and have a bunch of fish like maybe around 40 or so. With 5 discus. Barb sharks, tetras, red tail shark, guppies, 3 clown loach and some others. They all get along…. Have a FX2 and FX4 filters. I probably over feed them but the substrate is always clean. I rarely clean the gravel. They just eat everything. Also followed your advice on 80% water changes.

best thing about kev is he doesn't go about saying all the cliche stuff about hobby. he is so practical and gives us the "hacks". not everyone can do everything the "Proper" way it will take too much time and money.

Great vedio, Im hooked, like to see the content of all the fish and tanks, and most of all the Info is allways right on the money, thank you for everything you do.

Much respect you never see ball players with freshwater fish they always get saltwater I've been fishkeeping since I've been 12 years old so seeing Ozzie with fish I grew up keeping is awesome even tho I am a San Francisco Giant Ozzie is now one of my favorite baseball players now

Kaveman I'm very very newbie. But found your channel (hundreds more) and decided your temperament is what I need to succeed. My situation....10gal. 5 goldfish 3in for all and one place 3in. I have ammonia 2ppm. Do a 85% water change daily. Ammonia will go to .25 ppm. I have 0 nitrites and about 10ppm nitrates. Other water parameters are in normal range. Tank very clean, vacuumed daily. Your thought? Thanks in advance

@KaveManAquatics Kevin, Here is something I just learned and need your advise because it's the first time I've heard it. The "Dechlorinator" .... it says to redose every 48hrs or the chlorine and chlorium will be re-released back into the water .

Kev, awesome video thank you. You make a point about how the rule of "some fish wont work with other fish" is just a suggestion, and it may not work for you but it may work for someone else. Why then does your app not like when you want to mix certain fish together. I have an angel fish with other fish in my tank that the app will not allow. Any plans to change the parameters? Kev! I got a question for ya… I haven’t changed my water in 2 weeks. I’ve been testing every other day & still have 0 ammonia, nitrite and nitrate according to API. It’s a planted 75g tang cichlid tank. Is there another reason to do water changes besides nitrate build up since I’m not getting any?
